Share your story

Patient stories and lived experience are important tools in raising awareness and improving understanding of hypermobility related symptoms and issues, and in patient peer support - so we can feel connected, know we aren't alone, and learn from each other's experiences.

So if you have a story to share, please submit it using the form below.

We are especially interested in stories that cover  how hypermobility affects your daily life - the symptoms, challenges or issues you face, and the things that you have found most helpful in managing those symptoms, challenges or issues.

Written stories should be a maximum of 500 words (300 or less is best), and audio or video stories should be 2 minutes or less.

All stories submitted, and/or extracts from them, may be used in various ways, including (but not limited to) on the HMSA website, blog, social media posts, and grant applications. We may not always be able to use your entire story and may use extracts from them instead. Anything you submit (including images) must be your own work, and you must have the right to share it.

Send us your story!

Please upload your file(s) below - video, audio, word doc or image. If you'd like to submit a written story and a photo, please do. The maximum video size is 2GB, the maximum audio file size is 50MB, and the maximum image size is 25MB.

Please write in the box below exactly how you would like your name (or pseudonym) to appear when we share your story - including any title, or descriptor you would want us to include. (for example: Ms J Smith. or: Anonymous. Or: Hannah - patient with symptomatic hypermobility. )

If, after submitting your story, you wish to withdraw your consent, please email Stories@hypermobility.org.
