I'm 36 years old and here is a brief history of "MY Bones". Well as brief at it can be.
The past year I have felt extremely tired, almost everyday. I have always had the odd injury but now my whole body seems to hurt.
Knees & Elbows ( I hurt the left ones in a scooter accident over 2 years ago)
Lower Back (I've had a weakness with disc spasms etc from age 17)
Shoulders (From the age of 18 mainly the right sternoclavicular joint which sticks out. I'm told I may have dislocated this on several occasions).
All of my joints seem to be very "clicky" and painful. I suffer my worst pain in the evening when resting and also wake up several times during the night. The mornings are also quite bad as my whole body is very stiff.
My GP referred me to Rheumatology. I never saw the main consultant, instead I saw the Rheumatology Physio. She examined me and ruled out R A through X Rays of hands and feet and some blood tests.
She said " the most likely cause of my symptoms is Joint Hypermobility"
She also said that i needed to exercise but to be careful what i do and if i needed pain relief see my GP.
She gave me a booklet on Hypermobility by ARC and then told me she didnt need to see me anymore
My GP has given me Co- Codamol which isn't helping but the Amitriptyline is helping me sleep much better.
I'm not sure what exercise i can do as i'm restricted, especially with clavicle and back problem so things like swimming are ruled out.
Do you think i should get Hypermobility confirmed as Physio only said "likely cause"?
Should i ask to be referred to Physiotherapy to help with exercise?
Any advice would be appreciated.
