I don't cross stitch anymore due to my neck problems rather than hands but a few odd ideas

Needle threaders make it easier http://www.mbee.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1569
Compression gloves help for some people http://www.ragartstudios.com/handeze.php
A free standing frame-you can get lovely ones with built in daylight lamps now(one for the xmas list maybe?)http://www.mariescrossstitch.co.uk/scp/Accessories/Floor_Standing_Frames.html

Remember to take plenty of breaks-it can get compulsive-I'll just finish this bit of tree etc next thing you know you've been sat there for 2 hours without moving.

I have found a few and inveneted others. If you want a needle threader you can get some jewelry wire and finx it into a large hande made of either Fimo or the like - I use those all the time.

If your eyes are not good then a sheet magnifier is a great help - they are plastic and give an A4 size image which is good to work with.

There are some design programmes for computers that you can get which mean you can convert photos or any graphic into a cross stitch pattern, or just design your own patterns.

Hope this helps you
