Questions arising after and during Pain management courses

Sorry to hear that the Pain Clinic forgot to sort out your follow up appointment . I am glad they have made one for January but we really shouldn't have to be the ones to do the chasing all the time.

Hi Sue and Nat thanks ladies. I agree why are we the ones that have to keep hcasing them all the time they shouldn't lose things and file things properly. I am definatly gonna speak to him about giving patients info and advice when I had my SI joint done cause they should give patients advice and they didn't.

Hi all I thought this might be the best place to put this. I saw my Pain Consultant today I told him what had gone on and how I felt after the Sacro Illiac joint injections, I said to him that I wasn't complaining about the nursing staff on the daycentre unit but they should have had a better understanding about hms and that we need more time to recover afterwards not all this conveyer belt system cause we can't do it. He said that some of it was his fault that he should have made them more aware and needing more time also that they wouldn't hardly ever see someone who has hms so they don't know anything about it.

We discussed the next options and he said he could bring me back in and inject my muscles in my back with Botox and a steroid to see if it will help as Botox is supposed to help muscle spasms and that he would make the nursing staff aware this time that I need more time. He said he will try and get me in asap, also he wants my gp to prescribe either Oramorph or MST tabs for the meantime.

Hopefully I won't have to wait to long. I am quite pleased with todays outcome.

Well done you!! I do agree nursing staff should be well informed btu kudos to the dr for holding his hands up and admitting guilt!!!

Sarah, i forgot to ask you if you had any news on a PM course at your meeting. I do hope you can get on one, but hten i had a really positive experience and its helped so much.

Good for you for being so brave with your consultant .

I really hope he can get you in for the botox injections soon, and that in the meantime the new meds help ease some of your pain.

Hi Sue Thanks hun, Am waiting for Pain Consultant to write to gp before new meds can be prescribed will prob get a call from gp surgery eventually.
