Sorry guys, there has been a further delay

I thought the booklet was already to be printed other than the fact the printer was going to try to centre the wording on the back page for me (I had been having trouble doing this without affecting all the justification of people's intros and they assured me they could rectify it). Anyway, the printer hand delivered a revised proof copy for me, and unfortunately all the justification of the intros has gone funny :x - as I expected it would.

Luckily, I still had the original version on file and I have resent a copy of this to the printers on disc, as their copy got corrupted. I have said that I would rather put up with the back page being slightly off centre than have lots of funny spaces in people's write ups.

My hubby hand delivered a copy of the disc today so I will call the prionters again tomorrow to check they are back on track and try to find out when the booklets will finally be ready.

Sorry chaps, I was really hoping to have had the booklets ready to post out by now, but sadly that is not to be :( .

I will update you all with more info as soon as I hear from the printers (again  ).

I deal with printers regularly, and know that every project runs smoothly until you get them involved.

Have a big hug  from someone who knows about the trouble of working with the printing trade.

Hi Guys,

It's me again

I contacted the printers this morning and they have told me they should have the booklets ready by Wednesday/Thursday of this week :D

The woman organising my project has been extremely helpful I have to say, and has really tried her hardest to help with the project. Not many people would hand deliver a proof copy to someone's door. it was just unfortunate that in trying to centre the back page for me it threw some of the other pages out.

She is even going to go the extra mile and get the pages made up into booklets on a competitors machine as they have better facilites to fold the pages (she told me on their machine they have to fold the covers by hand - which is quite a lot of folding for 200 copies  ).

Anyway folks, don't hold your breath, as there may still be some further last minute complications, but all being well, the booklets will be winging there way to the contributors shortly.

The HMSA have also ordered 25 copies which will be available to buy through them directly (details to follow shortly).

Take care,

Sue.

Hi Guys,

Me again. Guess what? There has been another minor set back :x . I went back to work today after having 2 weeks off for my hand op and thought I would go into the printers after work to see how things were progressing. The lovely lady dealing with our project said that the person who is making up the booklets on his special machine thought there was a page missing  It turns out, after she walked round to his shop to double check, that he had got it wrong and all the pages are definately there. Anyway, she is still hopeful that the booklets will be ready by the end of this week, so I am going to pay for them on my debit card tomorrow and once again she has volunteered to hand deliever them to me :D

I will be keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to start posting the booklets out over the weekend

Take care,

Sue.

HOORAH, HOORAY :D

I now have the poetry booklets!!

They look really good - the printers were able to centralise the wording on the back page too.

I will start to divide the copies up and get them packaged ready for my hubby to post them out as soon as possible.

I am still waiting on 2 of the contributors address - Elliewelly and Dom (via Jakerleen) - so if you could kindly PM them to me asap, I will get the booklets to you as quick as a can.

Then we can all start to raise some funds for the HMSA - YIPPEEE !!

Take care,

Sue.

Hi Guys,

Hubby and I have been busy bees this morning and he has just gone round to the post office to post out the majority of the booklets. There are still 3 lots we are waiting to post, but most of you should have your booklets shortly.

I underestimated the postage cost on some of the larger packages, but thanks to some of you including a little extra (many thanks by the way :D ), I have not ended up too much out of pocket.

I hope you all enjoy receiving your packages soon

Take care,

Sue.

Well done Sarah on selling all your copies already

Michelle, I think your idea of a raffle sounds good too :D

Shady, I have your 2 copies ready and waiting to be posted out to you as soon as I receive your envelope

I went to my hubby's Bowls Club today and managed to sell four copies of the new booklet and 2 of my original booklet. So far I have raised £424.00 from my 1st booklet and £30.00 on the new compilation (I also have at least £45.00 worth of reservations) :D

Hannah, I hope you raise lots and lots of money too.

I already have about half of my copies earmarked for people but I think I will have a number available for members of the HMSA if they would like to get in touch with me. As I mentioned before, the HMSA have also bought a number of copies of the booklets at cost too which should hopefully be available through the charity shortly. I have to liase with Nick about how this will happen, so please watch this space......

Take care all

 :nellie:

I have my batch of booklets!!!!

I sat down and read completely through one :) WOW. It is really good. There is a good variety of poems in it, and it is really well presented. You did a brilliant job Sue and all contributors.

I have a couple of orders from friends, and am going to take a load to work on wednesday (I have to go in for an oc health thing-y) - so fingers crossed. Oh, I must get my sister to try her work too - only I might sell them for more there, cos they are all accountants

Ohh I am so excited about this! I have to restrain my emoticons otherwise there would be more of them on here than words
