Oh sorry ombili and all other American friends, it's such a shame the pond is so wide.

I`d love to come to a residential weekend and possibly 2 adult daughters too, . Near to good rail links would be ideal, and not too far North(I`m in S. Wales). A journey of over 3 hours or so on train would be out ofthe question without stopping halfway. I`d have come to the ball but have an important event on that day. If it`s not possible to get a location that suits everyone how about doing two separate ones , one in North and the other South(hate to separate us like that but may be only way?...)

Lovely idea, but we just don't have the manpower!! Running just one event in a year is a huge undertaking

Jay has suggested Birmingham? Good rail and air links :D

Birmingham would be fine. Hope not too far for others but only 3 hours with one change for S Wales.

I'm sure I could make birmingham - infact seeing as I enjoyed the dance so much, I think I would get to anywhere in the UK if needed!!

Scotland would obviously suit me but Birmingham, finances dependant might just about be manageable (flight's are in the region of £100  but less than 2hrs).

 My personal chauffer eh Fi? I like it! I'll go anywhere that Fi will drive me to! We've had a tonne of fun every time so far!!! I've decided to make her take me somewhere else too (I'm sure it'll be really hard to persuade her ... not!) ... not sure where yet... Don't want to wait till next summer for more exciting road trip fun!

(Makes for a good chauffer our Fi, comfy car, good chit chat, lots of laughing, plenty of rest breaks with no grumpiness, understands that sudden breaking/accelerating and bombing around corners is not fun for me, and her car is really economical too! :D Oh yes, and she picks me up and takes me to fun places!!! :D Brilliant!)

Residential weekend - fab idea! I'll be there.
