My right shoulder moves around a lot, and I have to prop it at night. In particular, I use a 'squeezy' pillow, it's full of tiny polystyrene (sp?) beads and feels like a lightweight gel. I have these in several shapes, including the 'round the neck', horshoes shaped one, and I find this great to prop my shoulder. I put the middle of the horshoe, with very little filling, underneath my arm so it comes around both sides (if you can picture this) It gives good support but is very lightweight.
May be worth a try
