Both me and Stacey started out diets on Monday. Exercise bike finally arrived today, started her on a minute of low resistance. I'll do several 1 min bursts throughout the day as my knees are a bit stronger.

We both have several stones to lose :( Put all this weight on since my retirement from being a postie and stacey's put her's on during her bad year that's just passed.

Now we're addressing it hopefully we'll be slim in a few months time :)

Good luck Mazza. Am still at it, been stagnating around the 15st mark again. Been a rough 6-8 months for me and am only really regaining control of things. Going to disabled swimming tomorrow for the first time  Luckily had my review with the gender clinic moved from March to December so have a few months to get it back under control and lose the weight again! I need to show I can do it because otherwise they'll take away the permission for the surgery :cussing:

I was shocked to stand on the scales at 16st 1lb :o

Ideally about 6 stones to lose. I don't want to be thin. But I don't want to be fat!!!

Weight is a big thing in my family. I have 2 sisters who have had gastric surgery. One with the sleeve, one with the band. The sleeve was successful until she over stretched her stomach. Put all the weight on again. Lost it again, she still wants gastric band. The one who's had the gastric band has lost it all too soon and looks very haggard to say the least.

So it's not an avenue I want to explore

Don't blame you! A friend of mine had the sleeve one and has lost a lot of weight (about 10 stone) but had a lot of complications from it.

Well done to both of you! It is always much easier I find once you start to see results! I am finally back on track so just eating fruit and low fat yoghurt for brekkie, then shake for lunch and a sensible tea! My biggest problem is after kids are in bed and I want to start snacking!! I do love a bowl of cereal for supper!

Me too!!! Trying to stick to fruit after dinner. Stacey doesn't eat much fruit. But she's up to managing a km on the exercise bike which is great! I over done it after nagging her not to, now my knees are killing me, so only done 500m today, will jump back on before bed though.

We're on cereal for brekkie, sarnie and yoghurt for lunch, sensible dinner. Just really cut out the snacking, cut out all butter (apart from on mash). It's also giving Stacey the exercise by walking up to mine to collect her dinner, not a great distance but more than she's used to, and quite a lot given how her knees are atm. So not really dieting but more sensible eating. We've got to the time of year where it's an easy excuse not to cook and to have salad with everything so that helps

Will be easier when she's allowed to do more exercise. Have told her to take some porridge down for breakfast too, and I'm planning on porridge for brekkie tomorrow, one of those rare days where I have the morning to myself.

Well done! I have lost 2 3/4 pound since Monday - so fairly pleased as it is working a lot better than last time, and I am not hungry all the time like I was! Just need to stock up on more fruit and yoghurt as I am running low. Treating myself to a glass or two of wine tonight, I know I shouldn't but had a tough week and I have been really strict on the diet so far!

I've lost just over 7lbs so far. It's going very slowly, but slow and steady seems to be winning the race!

I'm still hovering around the 15st mark at the moment. I've got an appointment to sign up to the gym on Saturday and have bought a wii fit board today as well  I've arranged for support to take me to the gym once a week and Em twice a week. So I'll be going to the gym three times a week so I can do it every other day. Swimming once a week which we haven't done for a couple of weeks due to it clashing with other things.

Stacey's took off a massive 10lbs in the past 3 weeks.

I've stuck around 5.

To many late nights and the journey to Wales at the weekend didn't help, stuffed my face all the way there :)

Well done on the stopping smoking. That's more important than losing weight imho. Stick with it and think of all the healthy eating you can do with the money!!!!!

I've stopped several times, and never get past the 6 week mark. Guess my mind just wasn't in the right place. Not quite ready to give it another go yet, but have a load of patches and other stuff here at the ready when I am.

Good luck with it!!!!

My GP recommended I go on the low GI diet as that is the one she has lost a load of weight on and is recommended to diabetics. Diabetes, glaucoma and several nasties run in my family so I need to lose the weight as well as for surgeries that need doing. I got a book out the library about it and it seems pretty easy to follow. I've ordered a few books from amazon. Will update you all as I go about how I'm doing. I had my induction session at the gym as well today. Doing some cycling and some arm cycling too am starting at 20mins overall and will slowly up it over time :)

Starting Weight: 225lbs/16st 1lbs
GI Diet Start Weight: 210lbs/15st
