I really liked this slideshow that was on BootsMD.

Diagnosed with hypermobile shoulders, hips and hands in August 2011. Done a good few months of physiotherapy sessions and it was definitely worth all the effort! :3

Lauren that's a really good website! I'm going to try some of those tricks
"Just when I got my head together, my body fell apart".
"I think I have a problem with my joints..."
The heaviest thing I can carry is a grudge.

Weighed myself this morning - 13st 12lb, am dropping weight like crazy! That's 6.6lbs in a week, probably due to being ill. That being said my calorie counts have been reasonable so I really don't understand why it's dropping off so much

Sounds like a good plan Donna. 21 weeks until residential, 1lb a week so my aim is to be around 12.5st or less  That will be 4 stone off since last residential

Well today was my first weigh-in day & I've lost 3.5lb in a week! Yay! Just hope I can maintain it. I have just under 2 stone to lose...!

I'm calorie counting using the my fitness pal app on my phone & it's got easier to stick to each day :)

I'm on my fitness pal too! It definitely helps; I used it when I lost my original 4.5 stone & have now got back on track & documented everything I'm eating & planned to fit in with my calories & have lost half a stone in 2 weeks (3.5lb each week!!!!!) great start & really motivating as I now only have 1.5 stone to lose to get back to where I want to be.

I find that I stick to it best if I keep some calories aside for a treat in the evening, otherwise i end up giving in to temptation earlier in the day, running out of calories & going "oh stuff it!" & eating cake & chocolate willy nilly. My digital scales are currently my best friend...

Sorry, only just seen your reply! Yes, I think the skiing machine would be better as it's low impact, assuming it doesn't aggravate anything else for you.

Im a little dissapointed. Been away with OH for a few weeks and I ALWAYS lose weight when im there last time i lost 6kg in 3 weeks. This time... nothing!! Everything has been the same except that I am now taking gabapentin. I know it can cause weight gain, so i guess i should be happy that I atleast didnt gain any weight. But i am still dissapoined!!

I'm on Week 3 of my weight loss programme. I'd like to lose around 13kg. I've lost 2.1kg so far. My first "mini goal" is to lose 4.1kg so I'm just over halfway to that :) My problems with knees and hips have been getting a lot worse recently, so I'm hoping this will help, but that's just part of the motivation.

I tried losing weight through going to the gym but I had so many flare ups my visits were infrequent so I started attending a slimming club and it really is working - i've lost 2 stone since mid January. Just hoping that with the more weight that comes off the pain might start to ease a bit - you can but hope :) good luck to you all who are trying I know it isn't easy xx
