Well done! My copy arrived this morning! It had my carer and me in stitches, especially as yesterday Xmas shopping in my wheelchair I became one of those folk who get talked over and patronised! And that was when they even acknowledged that I was there! Thank you for my copy.

Keep going! :bye:

Hannah is back in hospital to have her meds fiddled with again but any orders placed should still be dealt with by her brother. I'm sure you'll join me in wishing Hannah well and here's hoping they get things under control again. :bday:

Last year was an interesting one - starting at rock bottom with a 5 week hospitalisation, and ending with me living independently with both POTS and EDS well managed (still disabling, but controlled enough for me to live a full and fun life), having published more books and expanded my stickman business.

As well as the HMS and POTS cartoon books and HMS T-shirt and other HMSA fundraising products (well over £1000 raised so far) I have also produced some 'communication cards' (originally for myself!) which may help others communicate key information quickly.

I will be adding more to the collection as time goes by - so if you would like a communication card that is not currently available, just let me know!

The communication cards are a great idea and I have just ordered some for my daughter. I have also been telling all the professionals I work with about them, especially the SENCO's.

I need to go to the toilet or nurse would be a good one.

I should also let you all know that Hannah has designed our new car stickers and mugs to celebrate the HMSA's 20th Anniversary...they are good!

I love your communication cards and the sample images from your books. When I have some pennies, I will have to place an order.

Just a thought - I know there are a lot of autistic bendies. I think an autistic communication card would be useful - does anyone else, or do they use others?

I had thought of doing an Autism card - several people have expressed an interest in one. What kind of thing do people think would be nice for it to say? (I can always do several cards, so all ideas welcome)

I am going to order some of the HMS cards, so sick of people asking what I have done to myself, and me not being bothered to go into it all, so just say something lame like I have a bad back, and them then thinking that I am making a fuss about a bad back! It would be great to be able to hand them a card, and maybe make them think twice about asking someone in future when they are using crutches - why do people assume that you have done something to be using crutches?? Been in the wars have we?? grrrr!! Great products Hannah!!

I will be doing a booksigning at WHSmiths in Didcot, Oxfordshire on Saturday the 24th March, 9:30 - 12:00. Everyone welcome!!

Although not specifically an HMSA fundraising event, I will be advertising and sellling "Emma's Incarceration' (inspired by Poppy's stairlift troubles) and "You know you've been pushing it when..." which both raise money for the HMSA - plus the shelves will have HMSA logos on and stuff :D

(will also be selling my kids books Welly Walks and Biscuit Baking - raising money for 'Whizz-Kidz')

Wish me luck!!

You do tremendous work Hannah, have fun at the signing (tip: have an ice pack handy for your hand/wrist after). I wish I could get up to you but we're likely to be in the wrong county as ever.

I will have a stall at the residential with all my products for sale - so you will be able to buy them there - cheque or cash.

I have just added a new series of communication cards, including ones explaining HMS and POTS to my website :)

http://estore.eclipse.net.uk/epages/747384.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/747384/Categories/All_products/ADVANCE_ORDER_communication_cards - The HMS related ones raise 10p per card for the HMSA. - as do the old cards which have an HMS related message.

They are not yet in stock due to some unforeseen production issues. I expect them within 2 weeks, but if people order now I will ensure their cards are posted as soon as I get them - and that I get enough made!
