I am really pleased with myself because I took the first step and contacted the open university about transferring my credits to a degree with them. I need help sorting it out. Looks like they have a lot of courses I would like to take :) Can't wait for this academic year to be over now as it has been a big flop :S Hopefully transferring to OU will make it easier to cope as I'll have less modules to work on at once

Good luck with that and let me know if you need a hand deciding what modules to study.

Hi
The OU is great they are so so helpful. If you go on there website there should be information how to transfer your CAT points over but there is a limit of how many. I enjoyed my time with OU, but I cant get anymore funding to complete my degree. Good Luck Sheppeyescapes. The people in the Bristol Office are great.

Nice one chelsegirl.

Test drove my new car today, it has a brain because it will sense when wipers are needed and use them automatically.
Also has the volume control for the CD player or phone on the steering wheel.

I'm getting a VW blue motion Golf on Motorbility. It's a 1.6 turbo diesel engine.
Now ive gotta find allyspeedyminium (new wheelchair) to fit the car at NAIDEX. :D

As my DLA is paid weekly i should get this car on motorbility quicker than if it had still been on 4 weekly.

Also managed to explain to someone about HMS who was suspicious about my wheelchair use. He asked if i had
been tested and i calmly replied that last August i got my HMS diagnosis. So that's both people who suspected
the validity of my HMS diagnosis corrected.

Sorted out a new budget taking into account petrol and less mobility allowance (ive effectively lost £20 because
all my mobility allowance now goes on the car).

Also found out a friend i helped got some DLA today after years of trying and being refused. Shes a bendy as well
and i have passed on the sites details to her in case she wants to sign up.

I am really pleased with myself because after weeks of planning and meetings my Father-in-law's care plan was activated this week.
He has dementia and my husband and I are the only family he has to help. My husband works fulltime which has meant the most of the day to day care has been down to me with him taking over in the evenings when needed. There have been days where I felt like giving up. The sad thing is my Father-in-law is 92 and has the body of a 60 year old but can't cope day to day because of the dementia. Then there is me who should be able to help him but at 47 my body is more like a 92 yr old and, thanks to all the meds i'm on, my brain isn't as sharp as it could be either  We have muddled on together for months but now I can visit him on my good days and just be his daughter-in-law again and not his carer.
Life will be better this way

Thanks :)
It has been a difficult time and as you know stress can affect symptoms so my health has been deteriating. Our aim has always been to keep my father-in-law in his own home as long as it is safe to do so. This way he is happy to stay in his home and I am happy that he has that visit everyday to check on him and its not me!!
Feel like things are going in right direction for a change

Today I am really pleased with myself for going to give blood, even though they rejected me for being too small. They have new guidelines so if you are female and under 20 you have to have a certain blood volume to donate.
Diagnosed with hypermobile shoulders, hips and hands in August 2011. Done a good few months of physiotherapy sessions and it was definitely worth all the effort! :3

I'm finally accepting that my HMS won't just go away if I ignore it and am asking for help when I need it - from my hubby, my mum, my GP & even my little ones who at 5&3 are actually really enthusiastic about helping around the house!!!

I finished my OU paperwork and posted it yesterday to do my credit transfer. Now I just have to wait  Feeling quite positive about the change and am a whole lot less stressed now, I will get my degree just a bit later than planned

Well done bendies for what you have managed recently.

I managed to post my coursework on time despite being in A&E the night before with a burnt leg (which is healing OK).
Also managed to help gran get her lounge organised (suspected bendy whose given me a lot over the years).
