I am planning to make up a batch of Zebra patterned sock monkeyz to donate for the weekend, and I also hope to launch the next HMSA poetry booklet - "Dancing in my Dreams" at the residential too

I am looking forward to it already

Hello

Haven't been before so excuse all the question asking.

I'm a direct debit member and since I'm going to be a bendy all my life I plan to stay. :D

I would like to pay for my residential in full, is that possible? Just that would be easier because next year I will have an autism
related residential to pay for as well and these 2 events I plan to be my only time away. I would be staying on site.

I have a foldable manual wheelchair so if there was somewhere to put my wheelchair when I'm in my room then I might be OK
with a non accessible room.

Is there transport organised from a local railway station for those that would finding driving difficult?

How far in advance would menus and timetable information been sent out?

Would I be sharing a bedroom with anyone? I don't mind as long as their a friend of mine or female or both.

Just a quick question as to if there are many spaces left? I am really wanting to go but I do not have the money for the deposit yet, and was wondering how long I might have to save up!

Also the same as Trekster about space for my wheelchair, as I have a rigid chair but wouldn't dream of taking up one of the few adapted rooms, but would like to know that it would be safe as I would not want anything to happen to it as I think wheelchair services would kill me after me being such an awkward customer!!

Thank you! x x x

Would we be able to pay the deposit by paypal instead of cheque or standing order?

Hi folks,
I will try to answer each question!

Yes you can pay in full now if you would prefer.

I would need to check re the wheelchiar but yes there was space last time and we book the entire venue so there will only be us there...so wheelchairs should be fairly safe (.....although on saying that neither us or the venue would accept liability...phew!!)

People would need to organise a taxi to the venue from the train station which is about 4 miles...if I remember rightly.

yes people will need to share but it will def be same sex and if you know someone going you can ask me to put you together. Some of the rooms are large so they can hold bigger groups of friends or family

I would love to say we will have rooms left at the end of the month but we are nearly 50% full as it stands now..

Menus will come out after April. The time table should be confirmed by then but we are always dependent on last minute alterations from speakers due to unplanned events cropping up...ie sudden changes in work or family life comittments.

Yes you can pay a deposit by PayPal but I am there on the 12th at the Bristol meeting. We will take PayPal but prefer cheques to save on PayPal costs.

I will try to come on regulalry to answer questions as they crop up.

It may be a good idea to do what we did the last two RWs and list who is going so that new folk can have a chat about what to expect and to start to get to know each other.

A SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR ALL GRP LEADERS
Please note that I am going to try to arrange some training for Sunday afternoon about 2-3.30pm. It isnt compulsory but we would like to get everyone together. I cant fit it into the timetable at any other stage at the mo.

THERE WILL ALSO BE A SMALL AGM on the Friday evening. :bye:

Pleased you can make the Bristol Bendy group Donna, will bring my cheque book with me.

Was wondering if members here could ask about sharing a taxi and the costs? I understand this would be a private
arrangement.

If i could share with someone who doesn't mind a snorer and is aware of autistic literalness (at least) that
would be great but this forum seems to have a lot of autistic bendies.

I'm really looking forward to this conference and if you need any help let me know.

Hi
I have a foldable wheelchair too but I am hoping there will be enough room in the bedroom for night time and I will probably be using it during the day! I have not asked for an accessible room as my only real problem is going to be the toilet without grab rails and in an emergency I shall have my hubby with me!!

Is there a taxi rank at the station? Or could we have contact details for a local firm that can take wheelchairs?

We are really looking forward to this!

I don't think I'll be able to afford it, which is a shame. Maybe another year :(

Ok..I forgot I am training staff for the helpline on the 12th! Sorry all. :wall: I cant change it as it was hard to get a date for the volunteers to be able to particpate.

Those of you who wish to pay the deposit can email me on admin@hypermobility.org and I can give you the bank account numbers to pay the deposit in directly or you will have to do it by paypal if you cant pay by cheque.

Are you all meeting in December..if you, please tell me its not the 3rd!

That'll work out quite well, I can do a direct transfer from my account :) Hopefully I'll be able to do that fairly soon.

If your bank account isn't the same as the HMSA one then a charge would be made for the service.
However if you pay the cash into the bank then a charge wont be applied. I have done this a few
times with a conference I attend regularly. Would the HMSA permit members to do this?
