Green paper regarding Senco changes do we need to worry?

Postby fussymum » Fri Oct 14, 2011 1:59 pm

Hi,
I have read only recently that there is a government proposal to phase out School action and school action plus. I'm having difficulty getting information regarding what will replace them. From what I have read it seems a bit up in the air. My understanding is that it gives parents greater control with the agreement of the childs teacher. I have looked on the govt site but cant access the full paper. My main concern is what will replace sa and sa+. Will it be better or worse?
Does any one have any more information regarding this issue?
Take care

Hi I am aware of the proposed changes and yes it will be harder for parents to demand additional support for their kids. In theory schools have been given a larger SEN budget but thsi has to cover all kids with SEN and it will probably be first come first served...with children who are on statements of educational needs being targeted as needing the higher proportion of money to support their education. :bye:
