Sue's Sock Monkeys - 20% per monkey to be donated to HMSA

Postby Sue New » Wed Aug 03, 2011 12:57 am

Hi Everyone,

I have recently started a new hobby - one that I hope, over time will help me raise a tidy sum for the HMSA. I am making sock monkeys - entirely by hand as I can't get used to using a sewing machine. Each monkey takes me between 3-4 hours, and does take it ou of my dodgy hands and fingers, but I am really enjoying making them. Already I have raised £12.50 for the HMSA and I only started taking commissions 2 weeks ago!!

Here is a link to my Folksy online shop:

http://www.folksy.com/shops/FlowerMonkeyz

There are only two items listed on there at the moment, as most of my orders have been commissions, but I hope to be adding on new stock as and when I can. I also have quite a stock pile of different socks, so if you would like a particular colour scheme or pattern, give me a shout and I will see what I can do.

I am making two styles of monkeys, to appeal to both males and females - The "Power" Monkeys for the boys, and "Flower" Monkeys for the girls. As the name suggests, the "Flower" monkeys come adorned with pretty sequined butterflies on their head and a smal bouquet of fabric flowers in their arms.

I hope you like my monkeys folks

Best wishes,

Sue xx

So far I have raised £24.00 for the HMSA through the sale/advanced orders for my sock monkeyz.

MODS - is there any chance this could be made into a sticky so it dosn't get lost in all the posts - thanks xx

These are lovely! I ordered mine yesterday, and can't wait for it to arrive. It's nice to buy something and know that the HMSA will benefit from it too!
Thanks,
Tess.

Hi Guys,

I am pleased to announce that I have now raised over £100.00 for the HMSA from the sale of my sock monkeyz, and as soon as I have received all the money from my latest orders in, I will be putting a cheque in the post for the charity.

If any of you haven't checked my Facebook page out, please visit at:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Flowe ... 7026479358

I post photos of all the monkeyz and other sock animals I have made (including a Giraffe  ) there so you can see what they look like. I have a few Christmas Monkeyz currently up for sale and more of those will be coming soon, so why not do a bit of early Xmas shopping and help to support the HMSA at the same time :wink2:

Take care all,

Sue xx
