Any other little ones done a "Rebound" course?

Postby melimo » Wed Apr 06, 2011 5:10 pm

Hi,
My 4yr old has been for regular physio today and they are putting him forward for a rebound course.
I'm told its done on a huge trampoline with a physiotherapist to strengthen the core muscles.
Any experience or advice good or bad would be much appreciated.
Thanks Mel

Its a brillant thing. We provide it at the school that I work for and has given our students with cerebral palsy the best core stability, and the ability to sit alone on a chair.
Obviously your son does not have CP but it will help.

Just watch that he doesnt lock his knees when he is bouncing.

Great thanks for your feedback, Charlie is particularly floppy so hopefully this will be really helpful. We have been told that a physiotherapist will be on the trampoline with him, so hopefully they will prevent him from locking his knees.

Its the physio that does the most of the bouncing. its the type of bouncing that they do that increases/decreases the muscle tone.

Its really interesting to watch

That could be interesting to learn - then I could bounce on the trampoline with my little one as she loves trampolines and is very floppy!!

Eloise I would do large trampolining with Little miss.
I'm still learning about Rebound in what type of bouncing does what and i've been learning for 5years with work.
