Thank you both of you. I'm currently having a read around and am finding it very interesting. I joined last year mainly to talk about my flat feet as the hypermobility that i apparently have wasnt a problem then really, or at least i didnt think so but now i am getting joint pain and muscle fatigue. It was my osteopath and podiatrist who diagnosed me but i saw an occupational health nurse for work last week and she suggested i go to my GP for a formal diagnosis. Having read what alot of people are going through on here, i have to say that i am no where near as bad as i've never had dislocations or subluxation (i think, anyway), so i am just trying to get any help i might need now, to help me for the future.

I am off to see my GP this afternoon and i am hopeful she will listen to me and take some sort of action. Although from what i've read, this is gonna be quite a journey.

I have plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis, and just generalised foot pain. Since I had my little boy its almost like my foot structure has collapsed and my feet are wider and flatter now (not unlike my hands) and I get continual pain whilst walking now, and incredible stiffness. The worst is the pain at night now, it just aches really deep inside.
What about you?
And how have you found the insoles? I'm just waiting for an appointment to see the podiatrist for some to be made...

Sorry to read you have to go through all that. My problem with my feet is that they're flat and i've been really pleased with the insoles. It was mainly just heel pain that i had but also my whole body had been compensating for years so it took a while for that to be put right with physio and osteopaths but as far as that goes i'm doing pretty well i think. I found them very easy to get used to and really the only problem i had was getting new ones which took ages. They've made such a difference though and i dont seem to wear shoes down anymore.

Hope you dont have to wait too long for yours

I'm here to say hi again and i intend on being a regular member this time. I have to be honest that I am probably not what you would call as someone who suffers greatly with HMS in comparison to some members on here. Although i have some aches and pains and the odd flare up, I go about daily life with few problems, and I have to be honest that the last time I was here I was rather freaked out by how bad HMS can get.

Despite that, I feel that i need to educate myself in order to help myself as much as possible. I regularly see an NHS physio and a private osteopath, as well as currently going to hydrotherapy sesions. But despite this, I dont feel they've told me much about what to expect with this condition.

The last time I posted, my main concern was my flat feet but now that is pretty much the last thing I'm interested in. Since my appointments began with my physio the health of my muscles and joints have been pretty good. He has given me exercises for different things and in the last year, the most i suffered was with the odd aches and pains here and there, which we are still working on. But last week I had my second "flare up" as my physio called it, where my back went into spasm because (my osteopath tells me) my hips, sacroiliac joint and hips were all out of alignment. This (the joints being out) is quite common for me and so far, this appears to be as extreme as my HMS gets.

I am 32 and I want to get pregnant in the next twelve months. With my hips being quite a problem for me, I am anxious as to how my body will take it. Plus, generally I am a bit scared of what my future might bring.

im also worried about the future, that includes the risks of passing on HMS, autism or dyslexia to future kids.
