little pictures, avatars, user icons?

Hi guys. I am still not getting it. The avatar on this site says no more than 6k when I try to download. I know you guys have downloaded more than that. SAMMY

If you google free avatars and the required size and then save them on your computer, you can then search and add file.

This, there are no avatars on the site over 6k (though people may have linked to pictures bigger than that within other topics) the board software cannot sustain a profile picture over that limit.

The file you're trying to use as an avatar (or profile picture) needs to be under the file size and pixel limits.

If you post a picture into MSPaint and look at the file properties it will tell you the pixel by pixel size. File size is available if you right click on the file and click properties.

I think you can call up a photo in any of several photo editors, shrink the margins by moving a corner diagonally inward, then post that.

http://imageshack.us/ has a button that asks if you want to resize and it offers several sizes to choose from. Then copy the direct link and add the insert it in the centre of these tags. http://imageshack.us/ is a free photo hosting site.
