Hannah, I am loving my booklet. I'm considering a bulk order so I have some on hand to give people. Can't wait to see the sequel!

NEW!! Stickman book on PoTS and CFS/ME

Postby hannah » Fri Feb 26, 2010 3:30 pm

The bendy little stickmen are back!!!!

This time to explain what living with PoTS or CFS/ME is like. With the humor of the first stickman book and the symptoms of a PoTSer/CFSer these poor little chappies stumble, sleep and burble their way through until they at last get a snooze on the final page

For each book sold, £1 will be donated to the HMSA and £1 to the Association for Young people with ME (AYME) (- both charities are helping to advertise the books so hopefully it is a win win situation!)

You can order them now through my website http://www.stickmancommunications.co.uk

Enjoy! - and all feedback on book and website is much appreciated. (especially as I need nore quotes for the webpage!)

Hi Hannah,

Congratulations on your new book. I have posted in Facebook and added it to my Hypermobility Blog so hopefully lots of orders will be winging their way to you very soon. I will order my copy soon but I am going to find out if a friend of mine who has ME would like one aswell so that we can save on postage! I'm sure this new installment will be just as enjoyable as the last one! Good luck with it and hope it makes lots of money for charity.

Hannah, the book is absolutely amazing and such a true depiction of the problems associated with PoTS, CFS, ME etc. Well Done!

Well chaps, thanks to you all I have, so far, raised over £300 for the HMSA, and I am now looking at having to re-print my HMS book cos I'm running low

However, I am now seriously looking at officially having it published (offical ISBN number etc.) which should open more doors for selling them = more money for the HMSA.
And I would like to publish it with a laminated cover to make the book more hardwearing - my copy travels everywhere with me is now somewhat dog-eared and missing patches of colour. The lamintate should prevent this happening. The PoTS book (for those of you who have seen it) has a laminated cover and is what I was thinking of doing for the HMS one.

The snag is: cost.

If I publish it properly and put the laminate cover then I will not be able to give my current discount to HMSA members. It will be a charge of £5 per book for everyone. (otherwise I risk waiting a decade to break even.) this will not affect the amount donated to the HMSA, just mean that the project is sustainable.

Would people consider £5 a worthwhile price for it? Do you think the laminate cover would improve the product?
Please answer either here or by pm.
(if you already have my book and won't be buying another I would still appreciate your comments.)

Many Thanks,

Hannah.

I am on my second copy of the book nd so would think lamenating would be a good option. Also if you have the chance for wider sales if would help with HMS awareness and may help with wider education.
