Perhaps it may be an idea to change your camera to something like a high zoom optical compact such as the Canon G10 or the Canon Ixus (which comes in lots of ranges depending on what you want to spend!)

Also, if you are looking for a decent rucksack type back, Greg highly recommends the Lowepro Slingshot. It's carried on the back but can easily be slid round to the front, without removing it, where it can then be opened on the correct angle and it carries loads without tipping anything out! It's so easy to use that I would have one myself only I already have my handbag over my shoulder and I'd probably get tangled up in it lol!!

I love taking photos, and have a bridge camera, not quite SLR but not compact either, but now i cant hold it to take photos because my wrists sublux and ache after a couple of minutes. I dont like compacts either, they just dont feel right, after taking my A level in photography, and using a film SLR and a Digital, i just got used to the feel of a big chunky camera, it feels more comfortable than a tiny compact, i never find the optical zoom enough on compacts wither. Im really hating my wrists at the moment

Hi Shauna

You've got some excellent shot on your site! I don't know loads about photography but they look really good except one or two that are a little bit 'blown out' (I sometimes underexpose mine a little because they can always be brought back to normal exposure in Photoshop but if they are already over-exposed then not much can be done). What camera are you using?

You should put some of those on Flickr too as you'll get lots of comments from people on there. Also join the DPS forums if you want critique on your pics but beware, people are VERY honest and hyper-critical on there lol! You've got some great subjects and the compsotion and perspective are really well thought out. Congrats on the 'official photographer' job - let us know how it goes!

Yea some are a bit ropey! My brother and sister like helping me out so loads of pics i have are because they wanted me to take them. And all the "touched up" ones are theirs as well (they are 9).

Honestly, not a clue. Fijifilm of some kind. Tis not an SLR but one of those pretend ones lol. I got it as a christmas pressie so couldnt choose which one i wanted. But i love it anyway.

Was planing on doing that, just havent done so yet, but i have heared flickr is brilliant

Neomod, I think I know what you mean about the camera, it's probably a 'bridge' camera which is sort of in between a compact and SLR (I think). Looking forward to seeing your pics on Flickr!

I have to rave about my new neck strap. I was thinking about it for ages but eventually decided to go for it. What a massive difference! It is a Lowepro Voyager C strap and was about 17 quid. It's contoured so that it fits around your neck better and also has more padding than a standard strap. They do a Voyager S which is a standard (not contoured) version for the same price. I'm not sure why you would go for a straight one in preference to a contoured one! I walked round Brighton all day and didn't get bothered by the weight of my camera once, despite lugging a 300mm zoom on it. Walking round Brighton all day had other negative effects, but not from my neck!! Normally I would be constantly repositioning it, sticking my fingers under the back of the strap to take the weight off, putting it on my shoulder to take the weight off my neck - anything basically for a bit of relief. None of that. I had it round my neck for about 4 hours apart from a stop for lunch.

Naama, that strap sounds really good - I may will invest in one of those at some point soon. I took some photographs of two horses in a local field this morning, just as a little 'practice' since I've been out of action for 6 weeks, I'll put some on my Flickr later. In the meantime, I had a photograph chosen as 'Mods Pic of the Week' on there a couple of days ago!

Naama I did most of my wildlife pics at Knowsley Safari Park on a quiet school day (we had a voucher for one of us to get in free!). For my next birthday, Greg is going to sort out a photography day at WHF in Kent (I think it's £99) where the staff encourage the animals to come closer and they can also make them growl etc for the photos. I can't wait for that - wildlife is definiely my favourite thing (even if it's just ducks at the park).
