Well done EG, that is fabulous and I agree it would be great on the back of chair. It would certainly get people wondering and perhaps asking the right questions, instead of just staring and assuming!

You are a natural - ever thought of ways you could still use yur eye for detail and perspective with other art forms. A shame not to use a natural eye like yours.

I remember now. I hate to see talent wasted. I do a lot of photograpy as well as I never could draw - not even a straight line.

I've been feeling poorly since I had my flu jab on Saturday, so rather than sit around feeling sorry for myself, yesterday I decided to take advantage of having a not-so-bad-hands day, and I made my chilly lurcher puppy a jumper! I haven't used my sewing machine in years, since my hands got too painful to do cutting and pinning, but with some help from my OH, I managed to botch together a basic pattern, found an old "doggified" piece of fleece in the car, then put it straight on the machine. It took most of the day, and I was so distracted by feeling queasy that I did loads of stupid things, like sewing the sleeve into the neck  and then sewing the neck on inside out, which led to much unpicking, but I was just so proud that I managed to finish it. My hands are suffering a bit today but it was such a relief to actually be able to do something creative.

The finished product

He is lovely and snuggly in it, and it meant that we could turn the central heating down!

Sez, he looks so cute. Well done you, a big effort and at least you were doing something constructive. Nevermind the unpicking, all the more distraction. I'm sure your lurcher appreciated your efforts.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh, I have a secret......

I stopped doing jewelry stuff for a while. My Dad and step mum wouldn't stop going on about it the stuff made and how I should start a business, they were constantly on my back and it stopped being fun. I started doing it because I found something I enjoyed and the pressure kinda stopped that. Also, home life wasn't great what with the small amount of room etc etc etc.

Anyhoo, I am slowly getting back into it. I am trying to work out an amethyst necklace, its nothing amazing and I can't find the right pendant, but, I wanted to tell someone so I am telling you guys. I gotta keep it secret from the family (not DH obviously) so that I can keep it fun lol..........

Just finished a couple of pieces - one for fun and the other a hanging. Went a bit crazy colour but it looks OK.

We made some christmas stockings so we all have matching ones this year as Amy had one from when she was small with her name on it but the lady stopped making them when we had Michael so couldn't get him one - even made one for the dog (and now need to make another one for the new puppy - but that's a new thread).

Pic's not too good as it's 5 photo's shrunk & merged into one!! Im Minnie and got Eeyore on the back wearing a Santa hat, Pete (DH) is Mickey with Gromit on the back) Amy's got Goofy with Mr Christmas on the back (from the Mr Men), Michael's got Santa with Pluto on the back and Koda the Dog has Koda Bear on the front and a big bone on the back!!

I've restarted embroidery after about an 8 year break; that was also to try and find a distraction from the usual aches and pains and to try and keep me awake. Trying to keep awake whilst sewing meant I made a load of mistakes and that meant much unpicking as well. But who cares if it works. Some lovely stuff on here. Let's all keep up the good work.
