Petition for Hamilton win to be re-instated

Postby cally6008 » Mon Sep 08, 2008 2:36 pm

http://www.petitiononline.com/belgp08/petition.html

Link copied over from another forum Im on.

I was shocked and appalled to see the news last night where it said Hamilton had been stripped of his win at Belgium yesterday especially as in the light of Massa being handed a poxy fine for a serious infringement in the pit lane the race before. I really admire and applaud Hamilton for breaking through the barriers to be the first black driver and a stupendously talented one at that. However, the FIA (motor sport governing body) are clearly trying their level best to ensure he does not win the Driver's championship. Shame on them! It's an utter disgrace!

Seems like nearly 12,000 people so far also feel the same, going off the petition, which is barely 24 hours old!

It won't help unfortunately. The FIA just love Ferrari too much. The events of the past couple of races have just proved it. Ferrari release Massa in front of another car and nothing happens. Hamilton gets a corner wrong, gives the lead back (losing momentum for the straight) and gets demoted to third. The FIA are determined that Ferrari should win.

There's no way i'm signing that! If Lewis is so bloomin' right all the time then how come every other driver thought that he had broken the rules?? He was shoving people off the road in todays race, but cos it's Lewis it's all right. When Schuey used to race like that, he was lambasted left, right and centre.

He may have broken the rules but I do think they should be more consistant with their penalties. If it had been Ferrari making the mistake they'd probably have just fined them and let them keep all their points.

I think it was tricky for the stewards as it happened with only a couple of laps to go, so they had no time to investigate before the podium ceremony.

I have to grudgingly admit that Lewis drove quite well on Sunday, although he wa pushing his luck with some of his tactics. I just can't stand him!!

Well - I like the red cars :) Always have done, ever since Schumacher. I think Massa does drive well. But then I also really like Lewis and will always support the British (even though I didn't really like Mansells attitude).

So I guess I will be happy as long as it is a decent race.

I also like Piquet, mainly cos I liked his Dad!!

My family woke me up this evening full of excited chatter about today's rest. It sounds as though I've been lucky not to lose the lot of them to cardiac arrest this afternoon! I've not seen it myself - was too sleepy, but will be watching the highlights later. :)

Well done Mr. Hamilton. :D
