On Tuesday, I went for my second appointment with my rheumatologist at the hospital. My first one was January, and that was the earliest I could get in, despite him wanting to see me 6 weeks after the first one. After he'd got angry about all the delays (I really think that after I went he wanted to go and shout at the receptionists and secretaries for making me wait) and gave me another short inspection, he said that he was going to have me admitted for a week, possibly two, at the start of July after my A level exams. They're going to see how it affects me, let me see occupational therapists, and give me specially tailored physiotherapy to allow me to get to the point I can do 'normal' exercise which is just too painful at the moment.
I'm amazed, as in 7 years of complaining of joint pain, this is the first thing that could really help me. Previously, it's just been painkillers and physio which hurt me more than it helped. I will hopefully be going in on the 30th of June for 5 days, then possible back in the next week, depending on how it goes. I can't wait.
Chris
