spine and rib fusion...advice?

I am a 25 yr old from PA and was recently told i would need a rib/sternem fusion and a spine fusion due to repeated rib disloctions and severe back pain from a hypermobile spine and severe back pain. I was diagnosed with HEDS 2 yrs ago and have already had leg surgeries and rods inserted. If anyone has any info on fusions with their experience and recovery please let me know...thanx for the help!!! ...Kaitlyn

Welcome to the HMSA (perhaps you could introduce yourself in the relevant section???).

There is a thread here about spinal fusion (specifically about healing afterwards). So far there doesn't appear to be a thread about rib fusion.

i dont know what you mean by introduce myself in the right section...this is the surgery section and thats what i was asking about. I just wanted to know others experiences and i did look at the messages in here about it already...i was just asking for input. thanx for the help tho...
