If you would like to attend the LTCAS event please let Lindsey or Donna know .

Dear member
As plans for health and social care integration develop, LTCAS are hosting an Engagement Event on 18 July (am) at Norton Park in Edinburgh for members focused on the proposals for health and social care integration currently out for consultation.
This event will hear from and allow members to ask questions to key leaders involved in this integration process including:
• Ron Culley, Health and Social Care Team, COSLA
• Derek Feeley, Director General, Health and Social Care and Chief Executive, NHS Scotland Scottish Government
• Angiolina Foster, Director of Health and Social Care Integration, Scottish Government
LTCAS has worked over the past two years with a broad partnership of organisations to develop thinking and dialogue on social care. This has been facilitated by Dr Jim McCormick (Scotland Adviser to the Joseph Rowntree Foundation), supported in part by the Joint Improvement Team and rooted in the experiences of people who are disabled or living with long term conditions, along with expertise drawn from across the third sector and its partners.
The partnership has developed a shared platform, articulated as ‘12 Propositions for Social Care’.
This work sits in the context of the Christie agenda and is intended to contribute to thinking on: improving outcomes, including supporting human rights and independent living; building capacity of individuals, families and communities; shifting to preventative investment; integrating services; and developing a sustainable approach in the face of falling resources and rising need.
To sign up for this event please email event@ltcas.org.uk or call the office on 0141 404 0231
Best wishes
Justine

hi All,

we would be grateful if you could consider attending the event below (18th July) on behalf of the association. It is vital that charities and people affected by service delivery actually get involved in the process which shape those services.
Please do contact Donna at admin@hypermobility.org

Join LTCAS at their Members' Health and Social Care Dialogue Event, the agenda for the event will offer the opportunity for members to hear about and share views on the proposals for health and social care integration currently out for consultation.
At the event you will hear from key leaders involved in this integration process including:
• Ron Culley, Health and Social Care Team, COSLA
• Derek Feeley, Director General, Health and Social Care and Chief Executive, NHS Scotland Scottish Government
• Angiolina Foster, Director of Health and Social Care Integration, Scottish Government
This is your opportunity to find out more about the integration process and to have your say on the issues pertinent to you and your members!
The event is aimed at people living with long term conditions and those who represent them. If you work for an organisation that supports people who live with long term conditions please circulate details of this event
LTCAS has worked over the past two years with a broad partnership of organisations to develop thinking and dialogue on social care. The partnership has developed a shared platform, articulated as ‘12 Propositions for Social Care’. These are the result of in-depth discussion within the partnership and with other key individuals, debate stimulated by the 12 Propositions discussion document (currently being updated) and a cross-sector dialogue event held at the end of 2011.

Dear Member / Associate

LTCAS have booked a fringe meeting at the forthcoming Scottish National Party Conference on Friday 19 October at 5.30pm in the Studio Theatre, Perth Concert Hall, Perth.

Given our continuing work and key focus on Health and Social Care Integration and the development of our ‘Living Well with Long Term Conditions: 12 Propositions for Social Care’ discussion paper and briefing notes, we have decided to focus the topic of our fringe around this work. We aim to have a partnership format which enables us to give strong, clear messages. Once we have established which organisations would like to be involved as partners we will liaise with them to firm up plans.

Partnership in the fringes is open to all LTCAS members and associates. As in previous years we will have to ask partner organisations to contribute financially to cover costs of the fringe session. Price categories for membership are:

Large members/associates - £300
Medium members/associates - £150
Small members/associates - £20

Please get in touch if you are unsure of your membership category. For partners of our fringe, SNP have offered us a reduced day rate of £50 to attend the conference.

If you are interested in partnering this fringe session, please get in touch with me by 14 September.

Many thanks

Justine

Dear member

There are still places available at both of the events LTCAS are running at the LTCAS Hub in Glasgow on Tuesday 4 September, sign up now!

LTCAS networking event, ‘Physical Activity as a tool for Self Management’ (AM)

LTCAS is hosting a networking event, ‘Physical Activity as a tool for Self Management’, on Tuesday 4th September in the LTCAS hub, 9.45am – 12.45pm. This event will use good practice examples to highlight the benefits of physical activity for older adults living with long term conditions.
The event will provide an opportunity for LTCAS members to find out how they can promote physical activity within their organisation and discover how physical activity can support effective self management.
The event is free to staff and volunteers from all LTCAS member organisations.
Register on eventbrite or call 0141 404 0231

Interactive Workshop, What is your hidden talent (PM)
Explore ways for Scotland’s people and communities to ‘give something back’ using their Hidden Talents.
In the early stages of the Delivering Assisted Living Lifestyles At Scale (DALLAS) ‘Living it Up’ project the team engaged with some amazing people across Scotland. We uncovered a huge desire to ‘give back’ and share talents in local communities.

This 2-hour interactive session will look at this further and we need your ideas on how we can connect talented people to appropriate opportunities to ‘give something back’.

If you have already registered for the networking event and would like to stay on for the Hidden Talents workshop, please book your place for this seperately. People not attending the networking event in the morning are also welcome to join members for lunch from 12.45pm.

To book your place to attend this session please email event@ltcas.org.uk
For more information about both of these events, visit the LTCAS website
Kind regards

Scott
