Got letter today to say i have to attend a work focused interview on the 23rd of december and if i dont go to the interview my benefit may be reduced. i live in the middle of nowhere, their are no buses so i will need my mum to take me to the interview but she will be at work on the 23rd and its too late for her to be able to ask for the day off. so my mums going to phone them tomorrow and see how they intend on me getting there. i could get a taxi except i cant afford one because it would cost about £30 each way and i'd be using my manual wheelchair which i cant self propel so once i got out the taxi i wouldnt actually be able to get to the jobcentre  if they somehow figure out a way to get me there then my joints likely wont have recovered by christmas day  me and mum had plans to go down tothe local pub on christmas day and depending on the weather we were also planning on taking the dogs for a walk, well mum and the dogs would walk i'd get to sit in my powerchair lol so i'm hoping they're gonna let me change the date for this interview rather than insist i go on the 23rd.
i dont suppose they'll be able to help me at all because i'm certainly in no state to work at the moment or go to college and even if i could work a few hours or do a part time course i live in the middle of nowhere so wouldnt be able to get anywhere.
pain is just weakness leaving the body (try to believe it, it helps)

Hi Poppy
I appreciate your problem!!! I,m sure if you explain that you are not well enough to see them at present, and set a date for January they will do this for you.
I had one of these interviews and based on that i would suggest you DON'T PANIC!!!!!
Just answer their questions calmly (difficult I know) and explain that if they could fins suitable work for you then of course you's love to do it! However it is up to you really what is suitable work. I said the work had to be someething i could do at home and no more than 2 hrs a day! and when I found some remote call centre work they then got Access to Work to come and assess how i was going to do this and then spent nearly 2K on a special desk and chair!!!!!!!
If you feel you are not well enough to work explaikn that at present you don't think you can work, although of course you would like to!!! and once they have seen you and you play willing they will probably leave you alone!
Good Luck and above all don't get upset about it!!!
Have a good Christmas, and I hope you aren't too snowed in!
love
