russell kane, he is doing comic relief dance thing. He was on Breakfast this morning and he show some of party tricks like touching the floor with his hand palms touching and also he crossed his legs in a wierd way. His hands seems very bendible at the wrists. He did say that he has always been very bendie all his life.

Okay not really a "famous person" but more a famous character...Spongebob Squarepants.

The kids had this episode on this morning and watching it I couldn't help but think of someone with HMS. It's speeded up in this vid so a bit annoying (well more annoying than normal) but it really is a bit of a chuckle.

Hi,
Not sure if anyone else has already mentioned her, but Anne Frank seems to have had some sort of similar problem! In one of the first chapters, she mentions always sitting out of gym class because her shoulders and hips dislocate!

On 8 out of 10 cats Russell mentions having stretchy skin and demonstrates it. His fellow guest Dr Jensen then asks "do you have hyper-flexible joints?" but they soon cut to talking about something else before the Doc gives his diagnosis. Shame, would have been good publicity for HMS/EDS.

Sami on the X Factor

Postby BendyBoff » Thu Oct 20, 2011 9:48 pm

Does anyone else think that Sami on the X Factor could be a bendy?

On her first audition she was doing her 'party trick' of making her wrist very floppy and waving her hand up and down (this is something both mum and I can do). I also noticed that her elbow was def extended beyond the normal range. Hubby also said that he thought she had bendy fingers and her thumb bends way way back.

Every time she comes on I look at her joints and am pretty sure she is also a bendy - just wish I could get a good look at her knees but she always seems to be wearing a long dress which hides them!

Not sure if he's been mentioned, but I went to see Josh Groban on Tuesday night and he showed us his 'freaky fingers and started bending them all which ways!!! And I just found this interview:

I crack things. I crack my knuckles. I crack my fingers and my neck. I can crack pretty much any part of my body. I’m my own chiropractor. And I’m also really double-jointed. My finger bends all the way back. That really doesn’t get me the girls anymore, but it did. That was the one thing I could do in third grade that the girls were like, "Cool, Josh. Hey, sweetie, come look at this freak'.

Is Josh one of us?

Further to the chat about Sami from the X factor.....

Did anyone see last week's Heat magazine? (29th October issue). In the letters section (page 68) there's a picture of her thumb bending right back. Pretty sure only a bendy could do that!

Couldn't resist...found out the other day that the actress Ashley Bell (?) in The Last Exorcism is hypermobile. She did all her own possessed-demon stunts! I thought she looked a bit gangly on the promotional shots too. Pretty poor budget it seems. Not the best film, but interesting none the less.

I don't know if she is or not, but if you ever watched Calista Flockhart in Ally McBeal, some of the moves she pulls off, she could definitely be HM.

Hi all

Arms bending back could show he was hypermobile, but it wold not be HMS unless he had other symtoms like pain or dislocations
