well i have gone and done it :D
i have just got you guys your own star
here is the deal ,over the next few weeks come up with an idea for a stars name ,thats everyone here ,you have all got a chance to submit your ideas , :P now i believe it is a maximum of 16 letters  ,but i will confirm it when i get the package through
now voting can be sorted out through the moderators here ,whether it be by POLL or email etc ,the choice is yours

this is not a wind up ,ok :)

after this ,the chosen name will be sent off and be registered .THE NAME IS NEVER USED BY BOFFINS WHO WILL ALWAYS REFER TO THE STAR BY ITS GIVEN NUMBER ,boring i know ,but it is registered for eternity at the british library

copies of the certificate can be purchased from the HMSA ,i would believe £2 should cover postage and packaging ( a do not bend envelope ) and a small donation ,maybe ,but again this is for the HMSA to decide
if it is ok i will pass on the package to someone connected with the HMSA to deal with ,as i am busy on the marfan site ,and people with problems there etc ,so NICKB and RETRO if you could get your heads together and let me know what you decide
and i would need a forwarding address to please

but the important thing is ,you will soon have an official star :P

love
cuddles

ps ,sue new has written a lovely poem to go with the star certificate :P ,bless her

How's about:

"Hyperflex" or "Flexstar"

Or, I remember reading that in ancient greek times there was a tribe of people who were thought to be the first people to display signs of hypermobility, I can't remember the name of the tribe, but they displayed typical scars, and lax joints. As Cuddles suggested, stars are odten named after figures in greek mythology, so this may tie in quite nicely  . I will try to do a search to come up with the name of the tribe.......

Hiya,

I finally found the link I was referring to. It mentioens that the ancient Scythian race were noted to have lax joints.

Perhaps the HMSA star could be named "Scythian" or "Scythia" in honour of the earloiest known race to show signs of hypermobile joints :wink2:

Sue.

P.S. Here is a link about the Scythians:

I like Sue's idea  I did go looking around for Greek, Egyptian and Roman names to do with health, hope and healing, but I love the more specific name of Scythia.

Names I found that I liked:
Aceso (goddess who personifies the healing process)
Achelois ("she who drives away pain")
Epione (Goddess of Soothing)
Iaso (Goddess of Healing)
Panaceia (Goddess of Healing)
