STEVE HAZELL - RECORD BREAKER

Just to let you all know that we have received confirmation from the Lands End/John O'Groats club that Steve at 14 is the youngest person to have ridden solo in the shortest time. He finished the ride in 12 days and 2 1/2 hours.

In fact there is only 1 other person under 18 that did the solo ride faster by only 2 1/2 hours and she was 17 at the time.

The bad thing is that they could of actually finished the evening before - but I made them wait until the next morning because of the welcoming committee we had arranged.

I'm so proud of what he has achieved and the fact that he did it for us!

Sponsorship money raised so far is just over £4700 - we are hoping when all of it is in it will be up around £5000 - WOW!
It's amazing how far off you can smell
the aroma of Bulls??!!

A fantastic acheivement-and a wonderful amount raised-thanks to the gentlemen involved and all those who supported them-and of course for Cathy, I don't think anyone realises quite how much work she put in to organise and make sure this happened :bday:

Thats so fantastic!!! I bet he was over the moon for getting the confirmation...know he went back over the history to see if there was anyone else...met him outside the toilets a couple of hrs later and he was still elated!!!

What an achievement for a 14yr old.

And you did work so hard Cathy... you definitely deserve a huge round of applause  ...wont send you flowers you got them on the day!

Really? Would it be possible for you to scan or send me a copy? Ta. I'll see if it's online too.
