Hi Flyingfairy :D ,

I saw your advert for the Dinner Dance in the Newsletter!! It looks great  .

I just had a thought (and if it is feasible it may convice me to try to get my hubby to take me) - I would feel quite self conscious all dressed up in a posh frock hobbling around with my rollator, but if I could use my mobility scooter, I don't think I would feel so bad - do you think the room would be big enough (and have access) for me to use my scooter? I could transfer to crutches for when we sit down to eat. Also, do you think the hotel would allow people onto the dance floor with a mobility scooter - it brings a whole new meaning to the term "electric boogie" dosn't it? It would be great to be able to join in and have a "dance".

If the answer to both these questions is yes, I may just feel confident enough to come - it would be lovely to meet you all (but it would be my hubby's worst nightmare to have to wheel me around all night in my transit wheelchair (and I would feel rotton too).

Look forward to hearing from you.

Sue.

Hey SUE,

Yes is the answer to all of those questions, also the hotel offer disabled rooms which would mean you would be able to use your mobility scooter, but i would book up early as these rooms are limited!

The hotel will have no problem with whatever you have to do to make it a special night for both of you.

If you need any further information just send me a email or ring me!(claireharrison@go.com or 024 76 335662)

As i say there is no problem with any of that but i do insist on Black Tie and Posh Frocks with in reason!

Hi Flyingfairy,

:( I have just had the courage to ask my hubby if he was free the weekend of the Dinner Dance and whether he would mind taking me. He is the Captain of our local Bowls Club and looking in his diary, Aug 11th is the date of the annual Captain v President bowls match and he obviously has to attend. He said if it wasn't for this prior commintmant he would have taken me.

It's such a shame as I was starting to get my head around the idea of coming along (I am quite shy in social situations) as it would have been nice to meet you all.

Hey hey Flying Fairy,

I'm the queen of disorganisation, but I really do want to come, must find my chequebook! There's other stuff I need it for too :duh: . Could you possibly put one ticket to one side with my name on? :sorry:

Best wishes, and hug  for being a superstar and organising this for us! I do hope it's not too stressful?

 We don't need an excuse to meet Fi! :D Just gimme a call! Which reminds me, I was going to organise inviting a handful of folks over for my "I'm not a hypochondriac party" :D I'd better get onto that too.

 Veeerrrry tempting offer, and thank you kindly  , but I reckon I need to be saving myself from my disorganisation! I'm just gonna have to get my act together.

Take it easy,
S
