Eloise - That's the worst thing, being so exhausted you can't focus or anything, but in too much pain to get some damned sleep! My sympathies to you, hope you get some sleep tonight xx
Twice as much ain't twice as good,
And it can't sustain like one half could,
It's wanting more that's going to send me to my knees.

Eloise and any one else on the bus route, I hope you feel better soon. I will try to go out somewhere and walk a little tomorrow because if I don't my legs will go into spasm. If I do just a little it keeps things from getting worse.

This happens to me every day!! I have to walk home from my school, and it's only about a 5 min walk but it's slightly uphill. Once i get home, I feel so heavy and i could probably sleep for a couple hours. My mom doesn't understand why i'm always so tired!or going upstairs exhausts me. so this is normal for HMS?? it scares me sometimes... :S

I know exactly what you mean.

I am feeling so fed up with feeling like this...and knowing that if I do anything 'intense' (although it might be something I could have done [no problems!] 8 years ago!) I will feel it a day or two later.

I don't think that people understand that sometimes all you can do is just lie down. Trying to keep every part of a normal life is so hard!

Hi musiclover

I think that most of us (if not all of us) understand what you are talking about with the tiredness, as we have the same. Maybe you could get your mum to read through this topic as it might help her understand. There are a few other topics (like the FMS one) that are full of information on fatigue as well.

OMG cannot believe i found this thread this is exactly how i feel on a daily basis and my fiance just says to me try working 6 hours moving flags and sand bags etc as he is a landscape gardener i just said to him well how you feel now is how i could feel day in day out for the rest of my life and i dont need to lift a flag or sand bag i just feel like this your pain is voluntary because you would not feel like that if you have not worked hard he shut up after that and not moaned since but i was really down that day as could not sleep up early coming home late, studying and trying to get a promotion at work and now giving up on all of that as in too much pain and stress and not worth it at all.

I find a comfortable positon in bed and wake up 2 hours later in extreme pain as my back hates staying in same position as it locks and then produces pins and needles down my legs and in my hands and then the cramp follows and this morning could not feel my right side it was just all numb weird and scary too, DLA refused my claim but not going to appeal as i can work and just get by although would love to reduce my hours to be more pain free but cannot afford to just a loosing battle really.

Lea197 - i know it may seem a lot of hassle but quite a few people get it on appeal if u throw lots of evidence at them. It doesn't matter if u can work or not for the DLA, I was at Uni when I applied for mine.

My shoulder is throwing a wobbly & the hit by a bus feeling is back with renewed vigour!!

I think it hit me, reversed and had another go today! It's my own fault though - had one of those self-doubt moments last night and thought I must not need all the meds so cut down my morphine!! Obviously I do though as can hardly do anything today! I have a reasonable day and think it can't be that bad, so cut down my meds - do it every few months :wall: :wall: Maybe I will learn one day - that just because I am having a good day, doesn't mean that the next will be!!

Yes, I get this if I overdo it too much!

Sometimes I think the bus is sitting on top of me.

It doesn't happen as much as it used to since I've instituted a strict bedtime and go to bed even if I'm just reading then as at least I'm resting.

Also, to recognise when I'm starting to get run-down or tired & instead of pushing through it like I would used to, rest & take it easy, i.e. get the bus even if it is only a few stops instead of walking to conserve my energy.

Always schedule some down time after having a busy weekend/week as I'll burn out.

And most of all, don't feel guilty for needing to rest more than other people, it wastes energy! :naughty:

Seems I stopped on that bus route again, and I've been being so good and not overdoing it. Ah well, such is life, seems I'm destined to be in the wrong place at the wrong time right now. Perhaps when that sun comes back ......

Sending out more of those healing hugs to the bumped
