virus issue

Postby fredboy » Tue Mar 24, 2009 4:53 pm

Hey IT guys,

I just wanted to let you know that I got nailed by a virus, a couple of days ago. ON the computer I am using, now. This is an old machine which I reinvigerated for use on the internet. Since reformatting and setting up this machine, I have only visited 2 sites, no email at all (I get that on another machine).

Therefore, I picked up this virus HERE, or at the other forum (in the US) that I have visited. I will be letting them know, as well. Hope it didn't come from here :)

I haven't seen or heard of anything either and as far as I'm aware our forum installation is completely secure.

I ran AV scans just yesterday and they came back clean. I am here quite often so I don't think there is an issue with this forum. I guess we all have to be careful about clicking links to outside articles and sites though.
