is Chat room like msn messenger possible

hiya

i was wondering if having a chat room where you can talk to each other just like msn messenger or other software has come up. that is incorperated on the site. i only ask caus if it was not for a chat room on the site i moderate i would not have met poppy.

just throwing the idea out there.

Sure Retro will be along to clarify but this came up at weekend and I think that is hard for the moderators to keep an eye on a chat room. And as people can PM each other and swap details then they can find ways to chat.

I belong to a site in the US that has a chat room. It crashes a lot and then you need to reboot. They did upgrades but it still does that. They don't moderate that room, but people don't go mad in there. Most of the time when I have logged in there are few if any people in the room.

I don't think they work as well as people would like them to. At least that one doesn't. Sharing MSN information might work better for this site.

We have had a chat room in the past and it caused nothing but problems so it's not something we will ever do again. Users do have the ability to share msn details if they wish.

Is there any sort of chat site for when people need to talk they can or is it all through emails ? Guess I'm young so it might be a stupid question but you know when you need to hear your not alone or someone needs to talk or even you need to talk someones always bound to be online with all these members x

Quite a lot of us are on facebook. There is a thread on facebook on here and the HMSA have a facebook page, so you can chase friend requests though that if you want.
