Professor Grahame is NOT Retiring!!!

Postby barkingmad » Fri Mar 27, 2009 4:42 pm

Hi all,

Over the last few months there have been several rumours that Professor Grahame is retiring...I have seen Prof G recently and after a few panicked calls I have spoke to his secretary a few weeks ago, who is also concerned about the amount of calls she is getting about Professor Grahame supposedly retiring.

HE ISNT RETIRING!! I AM SURE THAT HE WILL LET US KNOW WHEN HE PLANS TO DO SO AND WE WILL CERTAINLY NOT KEEP IT A SECRET FROM YOU ALL!!

Until then anyone who is told different, please PM or email me who said what and where and when etc.as we would like to sort this out for once and for all.

Thanks everyone!

The truth is that he is ALREADY retired and has been for some time hasn't he! Look at his qualifications. The definition of EMERITUS Professor is one who is retired, so I wouldn't panic, as Prof G obviously loves his work enough to want to keep on doing it until he is physically incapable of it!

The whooshing sound you hear is the collective sigh of relief from all bendies throughout the UK. And the giant cricking sound is all of us attempting a stadium wave!

Phew!

I might phone the secretary next week as the letter we had said we would recieve another letter when an appointment becomes available - yet someone else has said they send a letter telling you to phone them to make an apointment. If I phone them I can ask how much longer it will be as the referal from the GP was sent more than 6 weeks ago.

Hi all,

I believe Professor Bird is not retiring for approx 16months at least! .... so you will get your appts and Jax is right, the lady (some of you will remember from the residential weekend last year) is a very nice person, with a genuine interest in HMS. :D

My allergist is well into his eighties - as long as they're enthusiastic, doctors can stick around for a long time!
