I've finally got an appointment to be seen by ENT, it took some chasing up on friday.

I'm nearly on week 11 of very little voice. Its not sore and doesn't hurt to talk but to people i sound like it is hurting and a struggle. It does at time leave me feeling a little breathless and tight chested.

Anyone else suffer with this?

Had similar before. Was suggested it may be acid reflux but had caught a bug from a friend who had been abroad(I had it before after travel to australia). I had antibiotics and used fresh lemon and manuka honey in hot water and it got better.

It's not the first time it's happen. I've had odd weeks or days and the longest was a year, I was 16 at the time. Went in the September and came back in the august. This has been the longest since then.

Doctor when he looked said I was infection free and said to try steaming but it's not made a difference.

We can have issues with vocal cords being too floppy. In the HMSA shop there is a report on voice and throat issues that you can download.

Will go and have a look. I'm being seen tomorrow morning and now I'm starting to wobble with it all. But i'm so fed up of squeaking and its wearing me out each day. That I've stopped having phone convos and meeting up with with friends.

There is a blogger called Bendy girl who has very bad, complex cross-over type EDS. But if you go back in her blog you can see that she lost her voice about 4 months ago and is currently struggling through the intricacies of the NHS to try and get help.

Well I was brave as had a camera done to look at everything. I have a polyp on my vocal cords. He said they could be removed, I explained the hms and his face changed, I think he understands hms as he then said let's give intense speech therapy a go first.

It's left me feeling pretty horrid today that I had to phone in sick as I sound awful!
