I'm trying to figure out if the Cefradine is aggravating my autonomic symptoms. About an hour or so after taking it I get rather bad palpitations. I'm not sure whether to bring it up with the doctor, took her long enough to find an antibiotic that wasn't penicillin and doesn't react with all my other meds. Needing to use my inhaler a lot more recently too.

Bottoms! Just lost my post! so will be brief..see your dr ASAP and PM Eloise as well. I think there has been that awful bug which i know you guys had in Bristol the same time as I had it...well I am blaming you guys for it

From looking up the effects of cefradine, it is probably unlikely to be that. However, having illness often make our autonomic dysfunction much much worse and so it could be a combination of factors. Take it steady, keep your fluids and salt up and do everything you should do to keep off the autonomic symptoms and palpatations. As far as anti-biotics go, I would stick with that one, as any other alternatives they are likely to try would have more severe side-effects.
However, if your reaction to penicillins was anaphylaxis, if you start to have any problems with your mouth/throat swelling and constricting breathing or rash over all your body then get help asap!!!!!! Unfortunately if you have a severe anaphylaxis to penicillins there is also the slight possibility this can transfer to other groups of antibiotics (About 1% of people, rather than the usual 0.00001% for the general population).

i googled your 'cefradine + side effects :uk' and got a few websites about the medication. it does list chest tightness as a side effect
and to contact your doctor if you experience this side effect.

i didnt think glandular fever responded to antibiotics as i thought it was virus? Get better soon mate and hugs.
