Ha ha ho ho sandy, before my hands and lungs gave out I was a clarinet player and a very halloweeny sound they can make. I understand what you have just said completely. I bet your daughter wasn't afraid if she was still at home. I guess its just a sense of humour thing :D

As I Canadian I trick or Treated right up until I moved over to England aged 12. But there was nothing done about halloween where we moved to (most because we were out in the sticks) but we always got a pumkin.
Now that I have moved to the city I have decorations up and will have sweets haning up at my flat door. As it is a coded entery there won't be any mobs coming to my door but my nieghbours I hope will appreshate(sp) it!
I feel like a bowl of Rice Cripsies!! I'm snap, crackling, popping everywhere!

Surprisingly my 12 year old has decided he want's to go guising tomorrow night. He is currently obsessed with the Romans (and incredibly knowledgeable about them...even his History teacher is impressed :D) but he has decided not to go out as a Roman because he'd get cold  Don't think he's decided yet but that's fairly normal, he always leaves it til the last minute then expects his Dad and I to magic a complicated costume out of thin air

Hi all

I have to confess that this year I cheated and bought the kids costumes from Woolworths. Son has a frankenstein's monster outfit and Daughter has a black and purple witch outfit. They are even selling adult size ones now, and at both for £15 I was impressed, not to mention happy that I didn't have to make them.

:bye:

I celebrate Samhain also, though nothing against a bit of apple bobbing.

Not just me then, Kira? That's nice to know. :)

Donuts on string can be fun as a bendy bod too - winds up like limbo dancing and the ever expandable jaw is a big advantage for all things hallowe'en. :D

I've found out this afternoon that while I was away some boys came down, tore down my neighbours' ghosts (the girls are three and four and made them by hand) and shouted filthy insults at my elderly neighbour when she challenged them.

We think we know who it was and they've a nasty surprise waiting for them when they come back down here (the whole area is 'baited'). Kids aren't the only ones who can Trick and I keep score.

I feel like I should Muahahahahaaaa here for some reason. ;)
