I am back on the diet - after managing to put on 1 1/2 stone over the last year, have decided that it is no good for my joints so I need to lose it again! I also want to look good for when we go away in August, so have 3 months to shift it! I am trying out the slimfast stuff, and I must say that I am enjoying the shakes, and they don't seem to cause the cramps that I get after eating! It's half price at boots at the moment so might have to stock up before the price goes back up! My current weight is 11 stone 8 lb, and according to the BMI chart thingys I should be at most 10 stone, but then again they reckon I could be as low as 7 1/2 and still be healthy, but when I was down at 9 stone I looked like death! Would like to be just below 10 stone though. Hopefully I will lose it as well as phillmc, then I could reach my goal by my Birthday!

That is still a stone off though - and they say that it is healthy to lose about 1-2lb per week, as if you do it any faster it isn't healthy and you are more likely to put it back on. I can vouch for the losing it too fast not being healthy thing - gave myself gallstones when I did rapid weight loss! I have lost 2lb since Wednesday - so rather pleased with that!

Hi guys and good luck to all of you trying to lose weight. I am not in this position but know how frustrating dieting can be having been a fat teen. I if anything have the reverse problem as my bmi is on the low side of normal, like guest. What I do find is if I'm really hungry my pain levels can flare - I try to eat lots of low GI foods to counteract this and wondered if that would be a helpful tip to those of us on a diet - it should help keep you from feeling too hungry and bingeing. Good luck everyone!

I've finally gotten back into my swimming and have been pushing myself quite hard. 3x a week each time pushing for more lengths. 4 lengths more each time. Today I got to 50 lengths! or 1.25km! I am very happy, hoping I can keep it up and see some results soon. I have decided my base will be 30 lengths and anything more is a bonus. Right now though im about to fall alseep. One thing, it does make you knackerd, i guess thats good!

I have also started replacing some of my snacks with better choices. Really loving the SnackaJacks at the moment! the savoury ones are delicious! and the caramel ones, well they are a bit of naughtiness without the guilt!

Keep it up all! :bye:

well I am utterly fed up - been on slim-fast for over 2 weeks, and although I initially lost 2lb - I have put 1 back on and not lost anything since. I am utterly miserable as I enjoy my food and eating nothing at the moment and still not losing weight. I don't mind a diet if you get results! Think I am going to have to go back on my fruit diet that I used last time I lost over 3 stone. I have just had a big slice of gingerbread that I made last night to cheer me up though! Think I might have a weekend off and then try again next week when I am feeling a bit more upbeat about it.

I can relate Superstottie......I have been doing weight watchers for 14 weeks and averaged just 1 pathetic pound per week. :( Then last week I totally lost the plot and ate everything in sight! It got me thinking about things and I got back on track this week.....where I have managed to lose 4lb! :)
Sometimes having a break from it can help, so don't give up! Good luck and hope the gingerbread made you feel happy......how would we cope without cake eh?

I've been going walking everyday with mum, but eating so much junk during the day because of exams and revision it's not really making a difference.

I wore quite an unforgiving dress yesterday, and totally cringing at the FB photos today.

When we go on holiday we're going to go swimming every day, and hopefully things will get better then.
Diagnosed with hypermobile shoulders, hips and hands in August 2011. Done a good few months of physiotherapy sessions and it was definitely worth all the effort! :3

well done phillMc! I should really get back on the diet after having the weekend off, but I was so busy yesterday that I ate loads of rubbish! What diet are you doing? I did 2 1/2 weeks on slim fast and lost nothing!! well ok I did lose 1lb, but it felt like nothing! I think it must be too many calories for what I use now as I spend most of my day sat on my ever expanding bottom!!

I'm doing weight watchers, BUT, i', being very rude and not paying for it or attending meetings im doing myself. Your alowed 29 points per day and for example a breast of chicken is 4 points. I have a points calculator on my phone which makes it dead easy and there are a few things which i know about it thanks to a friend of mine who did it, like most fruit and veg are free the exceptions being, peas, sweetcorn, potatos, parsnips, avacado's and i think that's it, pasta and rice are a point for 10g and one slice of bread (bog standard white) is 2 points. If anyone wants info just PM me.

Well nothing lost this week but that's due to dislocating my back last week (agai) and feeling so miserable i ate; 2 packs of malted milks, chocolate fudge cake slic, a small tub of ben and jerrys, 2 chocolate chunk cookies, a beef burger with bun and half a cheesy garlic bread PLUS all of my normal food and no fruit, oops! Back on the wagon this week though and doing ok so far, no mass cravings for chocolate yet! :D
