So i finally got round to uploading some photos of our rescue cat. He's almost a year old now and I have to say he's not very smart but he is very funny.

He tried to jump out of the window... only it was closed... I heard a bang looked around to see this little idiot sliding down the window, plopping onto the sofa and looking confused at the new forcefield. :wall:

He climbed onto one of the tree stumps in the garden, his first time he managed it, he then laid down, rolled over and promptly fell off. :duh:

Here is the little one:

He is gorgeous. I love red tabby cats. I have three cats, ffion who is tortoiseshell, sugar a mackrel tabby and sally a tabby tortie. Sally sounds like your cat,she also loves a belly tickle and gives kisses. Sugar is the boss and she keeps the dogs in order. Nicky the lurcher cries and burys his head when she looks at him!

thanks madmum!

Stacy: Your cats are took cute!! I love the first photo!

He doesnt like bellyrubs very much but i think its becuase he is part ferral. We picked him up from the side of the road when he was about 10-12 weeks old. By that time most behaviour traits are developed, although he is alot calmer than he used to be, he does have the habit of biting and scratching if you annoy him. He will tolerate bellyrubs to a point then he gives you a nip but he's a sweetie when he wants attention. If you're sat on the sofa he will always come up and plonk himself on your lap and start purring. When OH and I snuggle up on the sofa, he wiggles his way into the comfortable place between us, it's very funny. He's a world a way from when we got him he was very sick and almost dying for a parasitic infection of worms and fleas, he had an eye infection and was just in a bad state, now he is a perfectly fine, cheeky little monkey.

He does have one weird fetish though... he likes to watch you pee, particularly if you are male, he likes the sound i think, though it does get kind of gross when he tries to bat at the stream!

this is my alltime favourite photo of him:

Cheeky Monkey

He has also found a nice place to sleep, which is a bit weird.

He is officially the cutest cat! Well done on rescuing him. Sally loves the toilet to. She accidently fell head first when I flushed it the other day!! Ffion is the only cat I know who does not land on her feet when she falls! Sugar is a rescue from a local shelter. All are lovely girls.

lots of love to Nicky ! Hope his ear is much better.

I became the very proud mum to my first lurcher, Maisie, last year..she was just 5 1/2 weeks old when she came to live with us , she wasn't meant to stay as she was given to my OH as payment for some welding on a car he had done for a guy , he was to sell her to get the money he was due. I fell in love with the little bundle and a year on and heaps of growing(mainly her legs lol ) she will be with me forever... I have never thought of owning such a breed, but she loves to lie beside me on bad days and walk beside me on my mobility scooter on the good days...
( I dread to think of the life she may have had if I didn't keep her....who gives away a life like that? or is that just me?)

my motto now is everyone needs a lurcher in their life...best dogs in the world !

Maisie .... my best friend !

Sorry to hear that madmum.

I posted the other day that I'm getting a rescue cat but my post seems to have disappeared. Anyway...I'm getting a 10 year old tortoishell rescue cat called Piccolo. She has a couple of health issues but that made her more appealing to me. She loves sitting on laps and shoulders and is utterly adorable.

I'd welcome any tips to help her settle in and keep her happy. She will be an indoor cat.

When she gets home let her find her own way round. Do not worry if she hides. Put her a bed in a warm and quiet area. Make sure you find out what she is being fed and stick to it at least for a couple of weeks,if you want to change do it gradually. Some catnip toys are usually popular. Make sure she has a quiet area she can escape to if she gets flustered. Make sure you know where she is before opening doors. Put a collar with an id disc on her just in case. Have two litter trays in two areas so she has less chance of making a mistake. A scratching post is also advisable. You do not say what health issues she has,let me know and if I can advise you on any tips I will. Well done on adopting her, hope she has years of happiness.

Thanks madmum. She has stage 2 kidney failure and has had one thyroid removed and is on medication for the other thyroid.
As for her diet she is on prescription renal food which I am picking up tomorrow. All being well I will be picking her up tomorrow afternoon  :D

Bless her,she sounds a lucky girl to find you. One of my cats has renal gravel,I use James Wellbeloved senior as it has cranberry which really helps. For kidneys use lower protein food and lots of fresh water. Well done on offering this special lady a good home.

Oh Madmum im sorry about Bugs x

My sister has just got a puppy (well 4 weeks ago), he's a border terrier called cooper! We are going to do some slow and careful intro's on Sunday this week with Cooper and Sam, he's already met Daisy but Sam get hyper with oher dogs and we don't want him to squash cooper or for cooper to think that the right way to greet other dogs is to go mental! Slowly but surely will do it. We're going for a walk in the forest near her house as Sam has never been there, it's nice and big and very quiet on the other people front. It'll be great to have another dog with as much energy as Sam for him to run around with, Daisy trys but shes just too wobbly on her back end. She tried to jump onto the bed this morning but on take off her back legs didn't work and she crashed chest first into the bed, so long walks with Sam are not the best for her, short walks whilst Sam and Cooper rampage about will be better for her.

I love border terriers! He sounds a sweetie. Sounds a good plan for the introductions. My nicky met a lovely baby basset hound last night, I laughed as the two opposites ran with ears flapping! Please try to put photos up,would love to see the gang.
