Chronic pain article in the Telegraph

Postby loosebones » Tue May 04, 2010 2:28 pm

Monday May 3rd 2010.

This article was in the Telegraph yesterday and I think it's a great article explaining chronic pain. It does not have miracle answers but suggests a change in lifestyle can make the main change in a life of chronic pain. I believe they are right - "I had to learn to help myself - there was only so much a GP and hospital could do for me" and "treating pain is an art not a science".

Find the article here
"Just when I got my head together, my body fell apart".
"I think I have a problem with my joints..."
The heaviest thing I can carry is a grudge.

Thank you LB that was a good read and helps to remind us all what we are 'ahem' supposed to be doing to manage our chronic pain!

Great article, much of what is said will sound very familiar to those who've done any kind of pain management course, but it certainly does no harm to be reminded that what is apparently very little to do with pain makes a huge difference to how some of us feel generally.
