Without having a copy to look at (still not got round to ordering, not been on here in ages things been sooooooooooooo hectic and couldn't remember my password! ) I think £5 is reasonable if it is an actual book and not just a leaflet. How many pages is it? Was there a description somewhere?

i think £5 is still good value. I'll be ordering your new book soon. hms book has helped on several occassions to explain to people and with a laminate covering would last longer so i'd definately be happy to pay a bit more for it :)

Cinders, It is about 44 pages long and staple-bound rather than paperback - but definitely more than a leaflet :)
You can see the details at http://www.stickmancommunications.co.uk

I think I will conclude from the responses (and as no-one has ranted about the extortionate expense  ) that my re-print run will be of the higher quality (i.e. laminated), but we will have to loose the HMSA discount. - so anyone who hasn't ordered an HMS book yet and wants a cheap one needs to do so quick cos I only have about 20 that I can sell at a discount left :wink2:

I will make it clear on my website when the discount ends although I expect to stop offering the discount at the end of this month.

Hi Hannah,

I think it's a great idea to have a laminated version of the HMS book as I could see from my own copy that they can get creased and dog eared very quickly if you carry it around and look at it alot. Having it published as a proper book would no doubt really help to raise awareness of HMS as we need as much as we can get in the UK! Would be great to see it in the shelves in Waterstones.

Advance warning:
As of 1st April 2010, the HMSA members discount will no longer be available on these books. Stickmen books will cost £5 each as per my website. This is due to increased printing/publication costs.

I think I am going to have to start sellotaping my stamps on. Maybe there is a phantom stamp-stealer on the loose!
Glad you liked the books though.

My two arrived this morning complete with stamp. :D
I've shown a couple of colleagues and hubby already. (Hubby works with me).
Whenever I'm feeling down all I need to do is have a quick look and giggle again.

Hello all!

My website http://www.stickmancommunications.co.uk now has a standard style 'internet shop' page for orders within the UK - so books can be ordered very easily.

Just to remind people that today is the last day that the membership discount on "You know you have HMS when..." is available. So order quickly if you want one!

Both books have laminated covers, which should make them a little more robust :)

With year 1 now over, the total raised for the HMSA this year is £407.

My somewhat ambitious target for this coming year is to raise a total of £1000 for charity (mostly the HMSA, but also AYME).

Also, I now have a facebook page called "stickman communications by Hannah Ensor" - this page is to try and raise awareness of HMS/EDS and PoTS and to sell books to raise money for the HMSA and AYME. So it would be great if is as many as possible could 'become a fan' and send it to all their bendy friends and friends with CFS/ME too - and of course feel free to post on the wall or give feedback and make comments in the dicussion pages :wink2:
