I will be coming on my lonesome can't get my mum to come. I'll say I'll share with anyone who is going but I most probably will be awake alot of the night as it will be the end of my school term then and end up getting cheesed off about something.

havent spoken to any of the other notts lot but I know I can get to Leicester by bus or train without any troubles.

hi loosebones - a splint swap is a brilliant idea! I've got a couple of knee braces that I don't need and was just wondering what I should do with them - now I know!

I'm hoping the mattress is rock hard. If soft I'll have to sleep on the floor. At my recent 'pampering weekend' with my old university friends, I ended up stiff as a board and with multiple injuries cos the mattress was a bit soft. Nightmare.

Hi Poppy, it was me who spoke to mum. I thought it was you who we were talking about but not sure mum knows your forum name! I have given you a downstairs twin room. And I will check nearer the time what is in it. There is some rails and bits and pieces etc. But I did want to say thank you for being so considerate and for mum ringing me back offering to use another room.

There is no 'disabled access rooms' available at all. There are 4 rooms which are considered to be extra wheelchair friendly and more spacious with a few rails etc. There are numerous ground floor rooms so we should be able to accomodate most people.

I haven't checked out the mattresses yet but to be honest this is a fairly subjective issue anyway!

I am sure we can offer space for a splint swap, but you will need to look after/ man it yourselves, so if you want that then make the arrangements between you and we will find a place to accomodate you.

Poppy I am sure that people would love your cards and Carala your cakes would be a hit too. Again, Nick and I could find room but we wont be able to offer help to look after stalls etc because we will be busy with the agenda and attending some other meetings. So if people are happy and they think it could be beneficial then we will do our best to set you all up somewhere.

For those of you who are sending in booking forms with deposits from now on, I need to let you know we are away from the 1st June until the 9th June. During that time no residential bookings will be processed. For those of you who haven't received the newsletters and booking forms, it is likely that your membership has expired....so far the people who have contacted us were all expired members so please renew online and we will sort out memberships when we return on the 9th. There will be no one taking calls regarding the residential during this time.

Have a lovely Bank Holiday! :D

i dont think my mum knows my forum name, my forum name is the name of my youngest dog so could've been quite funny if you'd been calling me poppy she'd have been rather confused  and its not a problem about the room. me and mum had both thought i'd need a disabled room but then after thinking about it we realised actually seen as my mum has a big car we can quite easily bring all sorts of stuff with us :) glad i'll be downstairs though, the signs on lifts always scare me a bit, you know the ones that say 'in case of fire do not use' how on earth are wheelchair users meant to get out of the burning building then?!? my legs decided a few years ago that they wouldnt do stairs anymore so i'd have to be shuffling down the stairs on my bum as fast as i could and then when i got to the bottom of the stairs i wouldnt actually be able to get up. doesnt help that i'm a little paranoid about fires
i'll get making some cards. just started stitching a small eeyore that should make a nice card so that will be 1 card to sell, think i may have to limit my computer usage time so i get more cards done! i have got 2 hospital appointments coming up soon so if i'm kept waiting for hours i'll get some cross stitch done then. i'm just hoping that if i get put back on the list for shoulder op i dont end up having that done a few days before the residential.

Hi :bye:
I used to be on crutches and had a lot of crutch covers made out of different coloured/patterned fabrics - the lady in the shop measured my crutches and made them up for me and they go together with velcro.... I was like a kid in a sweetie shop though and got so carried away with all the different fabric designs and had quite a few made ----- I do not use these anymore because I do not use crutches..... If you are going to be selling cards poppy , do you think you could sell these on your stall too?? (I am going to be doing the raffle so can't be doing both unless I had it on a table next to the raffle things??)
Anyway it was just a thought - I thought selling these might raise some more money!! :D
Hope everyone is having a nice bank holiday!!

Hi Lemonade (sorry I don't know your name!!)
Sometimes they have hairdyrers in the rooms in hotels - it looks like quite a fancy hotel, maybe phone them and ask?
Hope you are doing OK :)

yep the crutch covers can go on my stall too :) might buy some myself although i've sort of fallen out with my crutch because its killing my good wrist. i've just finished eeyore cross stitch, will give it to my mum to make up into a card soon seen as i can never get them straight in a card. think i have 2 or 3 cards already made lurking around somewhere and mum reckons theirs 1 or 2 christmas cross stitches i did last year that were extras (always do extras seen as i usually forget someone  ) so should have about 6 so far. which is abit pathetic but I WILL spend less time on the coputer and more stitching!

What a shame - I'm going to miss the Residential by just a few days. We're coming over to Scotland for most of August but have to be back home in Canada for the 7th of Sept for the start of school. However, I'm going to the US one in July - the EDNF conference - Prof Grahame will be there. It'll be interesting to meet him.
