if i sort through my magazines and remove any charts i dont want or have already stitched would anyone like me to bring them along with me? i'd just have a donation box next to them and it'd be up to each person how much they donate for the charts they want so everyone would be able to afford some charts and theirs all sorts of charts, from those for the really experienced stitcher to those who've never tried cross stitch and want to give it a go. of course i'll likely be sat in the bar in the evening so anyone wanting to have a go at cross stitch but not knowing how to do it is welcome to come and ask me, not sure whether i'll be a good teacher but i'm willing to to try to help :)

I was hoping that I could get away with not having to take my wheelchair to the resi but things have gone downhill again so il have to bring it. not happy. thought I was going to be doing really well for the resi but looks like im going to have to be very good with pacing and pain management when we are there so i don't sleep through the entire weekend :boohoo:

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you all know that my lovely friend Tammy has very kindly made upa number of neckalces and bracelets to be sold at the residential with all proceeds going to the HMSA. She is also donating a number of Pandora style beads as well.

Also, as me and my hubby won't be coming until Saturday morning, Bakingmad is going to set up a table with the previous copies of the HMSA poetry booklets on the Friday night with an honesty box
, so if you would like to get a copy of either my booklet of poems, or Behind the Mask and Hope Unbroken, please leave your money in the honesty box. When we arrive on the Saturday morning, I should be bringing copies of When you hear hoof beats - fresh from the printers, and my hubby will be manning the stall if any one wants to buy a poetry booklet or any of the pieces of jewellery (not that he knows I have volunteered him for this yet  ).

I am looking forward to meeting lots of you at the residential, but would like to point out that I suffer with quite bad social anxiety so I find it hard to approach people. So if you spot me, please come and say hello!!

See you all soon,

Sue :bye:

Hi everyone,

Just to say that Prof Bird has retired from clinical practice but has agreed to stay on as a HMSA Advisor. Some people have asked for the HMSA to collect donations for his retirement and to provide a present and card.

If people would like to donate for Prof Bird (and please be reassured that all donations will go to Prof Bird) you can either donate using the PayPal button or send a cheque to the HMSA. Alternatively, people who are attending the residential can make a pledge and pay me their donation when I see them.

I also need to know how many tables I need to set aside for stalls etc. So if people can please EMAIL me on admin@hypermobility.org and tell me who are running the stalls and how many tables they need i can sort it out appropriately when I get there.

Hopefully, I will be emailing everyone the programme by the end of the week....just waiting for confirmation on a few things.

Thanks Donna

On a personal note, I am socially anxious as well so please do not feel that I am ingnoring you or worst still avoiding people I am just shy like Sue...in fact you will find me hiding with Sue somewhere!

Hi Donna,

I have made a donation via paypal for Prof Bird's retirement present.

Like Donna I am always worried that my shyness will come across the wrong way at that people will think I am being aloof. I remember at the last residential there was a group of people in the courtyard, and I was too afraid to go out and join them. I regreted it as soon as I went off to bed, so if you do see me and Donna hiding away in the corner, please do come and see us :bye:

I completely understand the social anxiety there, I find it really hard to approach people I don't know. Once I get going though find it hard to stop  :shifty:

hate to tell you this but i fall apart even more now  although at least now my jaw isn't dislocating almost every time i open my mouth :) i'm quite shy but will try to pluck up the courage to talk to people and with my mum in charge of my wheelchair i'll probably run into a lot of you literally so will be doing a lot of apologising!
i've just started anther zebra cross stitch, this ones a christmassy one with santa hat and different coloured stocking on each foot. think that one will be a one off because i've already made several mistake and had to correct it which is really annoying me because its not complicated

Hi, I am really looking forward to the weekend aswell. I have to admit that I am a bit shy aswell but I am alot more confident than I used to be! I am moving to Bristol in a couple of months so wondered if anyone else from that area would be going along to the weekend too. Would great to meet some members that I could possibly meet up with again when I move as Bristol is a completely new area for me.
