(Sort of) New with tons of questions

Hi everyone,
I signed up a while ago but then never posted.

I'm a 33 yr old female with lots of health problems and I am wondering if most of them could be due to being a 'bit bendy' ?

I have an under active thyroid and was vitamin D deficient but more worryingly I have venous insufficiency - I know I have it in my deep vein in my right leg and also in both of my internal jugular veins (worse on the right side) with floppy valves. I suspect I have it in my left leg too, yet to be checked. Thankfully I already take 150mg of aspirin daily which helps a bit.

I have bendy joints, but they are not 'super bendy'. I am over flexible but thankfully I have never popped a joint or slipped a disc (so far!). I do have a curved spine though and mild subluxations of the vertebrae. I always sit crossed legged and any other position is uncomfy and my elbows especially bend quite far the wrong way.

I seem to ache and hurt EVERYWHERE and never know what's causing it exactly. I have strong reactions to various medications and can't take pain killers. I've always been a tired sort of person, especially since having glandular fever and with the underactive thyroid too but in 2008 it became extreme and I started with very bad brain fog and feeling extremely spaced out all the time, which is my worst symptom.

I'm surrently being treated for TMJ disorder too but getting on terribly with more pain than I started with!

I'm not formally diagnosed as a bendy one but a neurologist, masseuse and chiropractor have all commented on it (very brisk reflexes too).

Anyway nice to 'meet' you all and I hope to learn a lot more!

Hi and Welcome :bday:
The first thing you need is a confirmed diagnosis. Best see the gp for a referal to a rheumatolgist. They are the individuals who confirm the diagnosis. Go armed with the information regarding hms and eds in particular eds four. Also have a check list with the symptons that realate to yourself.
Wishing you all the best

Totally agree - get a formal diagnosis because that's what will help you most. Good luck and keep posting :bye:
