Have you had your appointment yet Sarah?

Iv not been on the boards much for the last week cos iv been feeling shattered emotionally and the screen keeps giving me headaches
Last weeks sessions were all psychology which is fine cos iv studied it so knew most of what was being said and answered loads of q's (must have looked like a right geek  )
It just takes it out of you tho. My sleeping is a bit weird cos im getting off at night and waking up (over 2 weeks of 10am or earlier!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) but feeling fatigued during the day.

Pacing is stupidly hard, it all the extra thinking involved  I think i need to work on the psy side more tho as the pain gates made a lot of sense and im quite anxious at the moment as im still not working, or even sure what to do. The psychologist said teachers are often the hardest patients to deal with due to work load. The NQT yr (the probation yr) is the hardest yr ever (all teachers iv spoken to agree) so theres no way i could do it right now and i dont even know if i want to or not.

Then theres the increased weight issue (now im off gluten my body is absorbing all nutrients and iv put back on all the weight i lost 2 yrs ago through diet and exercise). Exercsise is difficult and im still adapting to diet.

PLus im getting a new physio cos mine is being moved to another hospital so iv got to start over again. Im not motivated right now to do the exercises cos the progress is non-existant and so slow. Iv managed to increase my general activity level during the day and get out of the house more often but not complete all the exercises :? .

Hiya hun,

With regard to the exercises - have they talked about realistic goal setting yet? The point being building up to the level required rather than never achieving and getting disilunsioned and stopping them!

Sorry about the headaches - it sure sound like your poor brain is aching with it all. Don't forget to put in relaxation time into your pacing!

Has the dietician talked to you all yet?

Good luck - you are right it is a lot to take in and can be emotionally and physically exhausting too.

Keep letting us know how you are doing/
Take care

Thanks nonya,

The exercises arent really big enough to build up to! Really simple and small (from my point of view having been an active bunny once). Im really struggling with psychology at the moment, my anxiety is sky high and i feel terrible.

The dietician is happy and im seeing her again in december. It can take a couple of years for weight to settle down so a few months like this is to be expected.

I'll post in eyeore now or itll get moved

Its all over. Last session. Will be back for 1, 6 and 12 month follow ups but thats it. Loads of things i asked wont be sorted til 1mnth and im frustrated about it. They have a contact in a back to work company who they kept telling me will really benefit me.

Ill go mad sitting around for a month without a job. This is the longest iv been out of education or employment. The group are great and we all want to keep in contact and meet regularly. Also found out one person is just down the road from me.

The psy said she was really suprised by me and pleased with my progress, although i dont feel it yet. I wasnt really me in ther - much quieter adn less talkative. Didnt want to discuss everything with group. Personal issues added to pain doesnt help anxiety or depression.

On a plus am going swimmingg on thurs with a member of the group to get us out and about.

Hi Nat Well done you. The group all sound really nice and it's good that you are all keeping in contact. I am sure you have made progress hun, I know I am the same people have told me in the past that I have made progress with things when I have felt that I haven't.

It is hard I know siting around waiting without a job, hopefully the time will pass quickly and they will sort things out for you.

I am still waiting to here about my pain management course.

You take care hun and enjoy swimming tommorow.

That would depend. I got an appointment for a clinical psychologist from the pain management people separately from the actual pmc. It ended up being towards the end of my pmc.
I would call and ask whether it is the pre assessment for the pmc or something else. Just so you know.

Hi Nat

I phoned the Pain Clinic today as I had not heard from them about a follow-up appt with my Pain Consultant and they had forgotten about me so the secretary made me a follow-up for Jan, I will speak to my Pain Cons about it then.

Glad you had a good afternoon tea yesturday with all the women from the course. I know what you mean about satnav's lol they do seem to want to do things that aren't there. I saw the link for the shoulder wheatbag I thought it was good. Well done you hun.
